Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
This is such a great recipe! I made these cookies tonight, but I "halved" the recipe... Now I am regretting it. I had ONE cookie. I can't speak for everyone else, though. So now, I have to make more tomorrow!!!! Delicious!! 5 stars!!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2013
I really like these brownies!! I have had to tweak them just a tad (they are too chocolate-y to me, so I added a little more sugar to balance them out). I made the frosting for the first time on my second try with this dessert, and I used less cocoa and kept everything else the same. But these are only my preferences (the changes) when I made them the last time, sans frosting, the plate was cleaned almost instantly!! Def a keeper!!!

Corn Chowder with Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2013
I didn't have all of the ingredients to this recipe, so I sort of used the bones as a guide, and made the MOST delicious chowder. I wish I could rate this recipe based off the recipe alone, but maybe another time. I just wanted to say thanks. I found it to be a life saving guide to a very delicious meal. :)

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
This wasn't my mama's recipe, but it came really close. I had to cook it a little longer than the recipe requires because it was really wet after only 30 min in the oven. Mama always put the turkey gizzards in her dressing, but my hubby forgot to remove them before putting the bird on the grill, so I had to improvise and I used spicy ground sausage. I'll definitely make it again, but I'll use less sage if I decide to put sausage in it again. In short, I wasn't home for the holidays, but I didn't mind. Loved it!

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
I made this cake for my young wives group and they DEVOURED it. I'm talking almost-licked-the-plate good! I have requests to make this again. I did take the advice of other reviewers. Using fresh blueberries, I coated and marinated them in sugar for 30 min. I, also, hand mixed the batter after adding in the sour cream to avoid over beating, and I added a 1/2t of lemon extract-- giving it an additional kick. Great recipe and great advice. Definitely a keeper!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Okay, I never have exactly what I need for any recipe that I try to follow. This one was no different. I didn't have ham, so I used bacon. I didn't have cornstarch or heavy whipping cream (I could have used alternative ingredients, but I was short on time), so I couldn't make the sauce. Even with a little improv, this recipe was great! My family licked their plates!!!
