I made this mostly as described, except gluten-free. I subbed a mixture of sorghum flour and potato starch for the flour in the pie, and made my own GF crust. The taste of the filling was really good - instead of peas and corn I just used frozen mixed vegetables. I also added some more chicken broth (maybe 1 1/2 c. more?), and didn't make the pies in pie plates - one in a 8x8" square pan and another in a round deep dish that's about 9". I might add a few more/different spices next time, but overall this was great. How could it NOT be with a whole cup of butter in two pies!?
