Italian Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2005
I thought this recipe was easy and delicious. My sauce was a little watery so I would probably reduce the water; I think it was the brand of spaghetti sauce I used (Hunts spaghetti sauce in a can).

Coffee Kahlua Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
I am using this as the frosting for Cake Balls by Allison. I followed suggestions and decreased the sugar to 1 cup. I needed a more intense flavor to use in the cake balls so I used 3T. cocoa, 3T. coffee, 3T. kahlua. Very good!

New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
My whole family loved this...even the kids. I didn't have all the ingredients, but my substitutions worked out great. I didn't have an onion so I used minced dried onion, I personally would prefer the fresh onion, but it worked in a bind. I only had a little frozen corn and one can of creamed corn. The creamed corn helped thicken the soup and gave a little sweeter flavor too. Instead of cubed potatoes, I threw in my leftover "Roasted Root Vegetables with Apple Juice." I also added garlic as other cooks suggested and I would have definitely added the can of green chilies if my son was a spicy-lover like the rest of us. Instead, we just sprinkled lots of Penzey's Black and Red pepper on our own bowl to give it some heat.

Absolutely a family favorite. I can't believe my kids gobble this up so much. I use ground turkey instead to make healthier.

Tomato and Mozzarella Bites

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
This got lots of rave reviews from our family. Instead of the balsamic vinegar, I made Penzey's Italian dressing and drizzled over the plate of bites. A great appetizer that doesn't feel so "heavy."

Lemon Cupcake with Blackberry Buttercream

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2013
We loved it! I liked this recipe because it got its lemon flavor from actual lemons vs. lemon pudding or jello. This will be a favorite for our family.

Spiced Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
My family loved this. I didn't think my kids would enjoy the unusual mix of ingredients like chutney and raisins, but I was pleasantly wrong!

Orange Loaf

We gobbled this up in one day. I will take the suggestion to reduce the glaze and brush it on after you take it out of the pan next time..

I used olive oil, 1/2 lite sour cream and 1/2 2% milk to lighten. Fresh garlic and lemon juice too. Very good recipe!

This was an awesome tasting dish. I will definitely make it again. We get so tired of eating chicken, but this was a different way to prepare it!

Strawberry Banana Split Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2005
I thought this was great! To save time, I also used Cool Whip. I left off the nuts because of allergies, but I might try mini semi-sweet chocolate chips on top next time.

Vegetarian Korma

I did add boneless chicken thighs to this thinking my vegetable-hating daughter wouldn't eat it. My entire family loved it, so I think I could have left off the meat and they wouldn't have noticed.

My husband has yearned for bread pudding like the kind he got at a festival in New Orleans about 5 years ago. I hit the jackpot with this recipe. He loved it!
