Knefla Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2003
Well this was a great filling meal. We made it with cresent rolls, and it was perfect!!! A nice winter meal. I listened to the other reviewers, and used less milk for the noodles. I also didn't use onions because my hubby & daughter don't care for them. My 6 year old & I just picked off pices of dough, and dropped them in, and they turned out GREAT--like little dumplings!!! I did look up on the internet what knefla soup looks like, and ours wasn't like it, but nobody new the difference---lol. :) Will be making this again & again!!!!! Thanks!!

Alice's Sour Cream Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2003
This was very bland and in need of some flavor. My husband who claims to hate sour cream loved this, and ate quit a bit. I didn't use wine--subsituted it for chicken broth. I was impressed with how fast & quick it was to make, but more than likely wont be making this one again.

These were very tasty!! I rolled them in sugar again after they came out of the oven. Made them for Christmas, and I will be making them again!

Candy-Coated Milk Chocolate Pieces Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
These were sooo good, my hubby couldn't stop eating them. I made a mistake, and added all the M&M's at once, but they still came out fine. I used the green & red M&M's for Christmas.

Chocolate Chip Mexican Wedding Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
These were very good, and looked great! Made them exacally as recipe states. When cutting the tip of the baggie make sure it's a small cut--I made mine too big, and I had too much chocolate coming out.

Chocolate Covered Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
Yum!! Yum!!! These were GREAT--I had a lot of compliaments on these! Hubbys favorite is Yorkshire Peppermint Patties, and he said these tasted just like them. I didn't have any wax paper so I used an oven liner (new of course)--worked GREAT. When they filled the oven liner I used half of my cutting board--Bad idea-they stuck and I had to chissel them off. I didn't have time to let them sit overnight becaue I made them the day before Christmas Eve, so I put them in the freezer like another reviewer suggested--worked out perfect--HUGE time saver. I used a lot more sugar than the recipe called for, and I added a few drops of green food coloring for Christmas. Gave some out with cookies in Christmas themed tins. My daughter (5) helped make the patties, and we had a ball! Will definatly be making again. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2002
I will definatly be making this dish again & again!!! My husband LOVED it, and was very impressed with this dish!! Even my 5 year old liked it. I didn't use wine either, and I also used the frozen shrimp. I added a little corn starch to thicken the sauce a bit. I served it with breadsticks---thanks for sharing this recipe!!!!

Decorator Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2002
This frosting was like the kind that is on the cookies that the supermarkets sell around the holidays. Very easy to spread. Tasted GREAT on the Pink Icing Cookies (Submitted by: Lisa Tomshack). We used green food coloring for Christmas.

Pink Icing Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2002
These cookies were like the kind the area supermarket sells during holidays. I made them with the frosting for my 5 year old, and she LOVED them. My husband didn't care too much for them, he said they were too cake-like. After seeing how large they became after the first pan, I made them a little smaller after that and total I made 60 cookies. The second time I make these I used green food coloring for the frosting for Christmas. I would not recommend making these without the frosting. This may sound crazy but they taste better the day after making them. Yummmy...Thanks for sharing!!!

A Number One Egg Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2002
Yuck! After all the time I spent on this bread I was VERY disappointed on the outcome. I followed the recipe exacally, but it didn't taste at all good. My husband didn't care for it either, but my daughter ate it with LOTS of butter. Definatly watch the cooking time-it does NOT take 40 mins. to bake. Considering all the other reviews I coundn't wait to try this bread, but I will not be making this one again--not worth all that time at all.

Puppy Chow

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2002
This was ok---nothing like I expected considering all the rave reviews, but it is good. I made this and the White Chocolate Gorp (submitted by Ruth Crickmer) for our friends that come over after church on Sundays to play card/board games, and we all prefered the White Chocolate one over this. I used freezer bags and used more confectioners sugar to cover. I most likely wont be making this again.

Baker's Clay

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2002
This is a GREAT way to let the kids put the ingredients together, and mix & knead the dough. I let my daughter do almost all of it, and she LOVED using the rolling pin to make the different cut-outs. Remember if you are using these as ornaments to put a hole in the dough BEFORE baking. I used a nail from my husbands tool box that worked perfect. The reason I gave this 3 stars is because they do look a little weird after baking--but definatly worth it. The kids LOVED it!!!!

Slow Cooker Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2002
I used the large cans of kidney beans, and I drained the liquid, but used about 2 cups after everything was in the crockpot. I didn't find it to be watery. Served with cheese, and oyster crakers! Although it was GREAT it wasn't 5 star quality.

This chicken was very tender, but I didn't see anything too special about this dish. As another reviewer stated--shaking bake is better & qicker.

This meatloaf was WAY too oniony (and I love onions). Not a great meatloaf at all. I will not make this one again.

Divine Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2002
Although I really liked this everyone else said it was way too chunky. I love chunky sauce with a lot of vegetables--but it was too thick for my husband, and our friends we had over.

Linguine and Clam Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2002
I have made this many times now, and thought I should write a review. This is the EASIEST and BEST tasting clam sauce, my 5 year old and my picky husband even loved it (although my daughter thought the clams were chicken-lol). This has become one of my favorites!!! Thanks for sharing.

Barbie Doll Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2002
I made this for my daughters 5th Birthday and it turned out GREAT!!!!!!!! I bought the top part of the doll in the cake decoratng section at Walmart for 1.99, and I bought a stainless steel mixing bowl that was tall also from Walmart. I made 2 boxes of the deluxe moist cake mix-white cake, and put it in the bowl(I put shortning in the bowl so the cake wouldn't stick). I placed the bowl inside a 9X13 baking pan and filled with boiling water(a water bath). I had to bake it for a while--about an hour and 20mins--but it was VERY MOIST!! I had some splitting while trying to frost, but I put it together with frosting. Everyone at the party thought I made it, and kept complamenting on how great & moist it tasted. Plus my daughter & her friends thought it looked soooo cool.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2002
These were VERY GOOD cookies, but I added less chocolate chips than I should have. Next time I will add what the recipe stated. They weren't flat, and falling apart like some recipes I have tried! They were VERY GOOD!
