Artichoke Bites I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
I served to my book club & they loved it. I think to kick it up a notch I would put a can of diced green chiles in next time.

Cream of Mushroom Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
this was very good, after reading all the add more flour I am glad I did also. In addition I added some Madiera wine to give it some added taste and also had whole grain rice that I threw in. My meat & potato husband said it was really good!

Savory Slow Cooker Squash and Apple Dish #2

I used frozen butternut squash, also thought is was rather bland. I added butter, brown sugar & a little maply syrup after it cooked.

Grilled Whole Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I brined the turkey for 24 hrs prior, because of this I omitted the bouillion but used 1 cup water, 1 cup white wine and all other spices listed. The 12 lb bird was done in 3 1/2 hrs, very moist and flavorful. I also used an disposable aluminum pan so no clean up!

Beef and Mushroom Stroganoff, Aussie Style

didn't care for the shitake mushrooms in this if I make again will probably use cremini & white only. Otherwise the other seasonings were good.

Golden Oven Omelet

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
I wanted to make this but there are only 2 of us & then I saw the scaled down review by Mariele. I followed her direction of using 2 pyrex cups for 30 minutes, they came out perfect. I microwaved the butter to coat the cups, I only had sandwich ham slices which I chopped & omitted salt, also added some pepper jack cheese, I think you could use just about anything to your liking. These would be a great way to serve guests.

Grilled Romaine Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
I thought this recipe sounded interesting but it was not good & my husband said it loses all the nutritional value by cooking it. The only good part was the tomatoes, I did use that oil to marinate shrimp before putting on the BBQ.

Creamy Cheesy Scrambled Eggs with Basil

received on Iphone this morning, it was quick & easy for today's breakfast. I didn't have mozzarella so I substituted 1/3 cup of pepper jack.

Spoiled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
I put ribs in a 11x13 baking pan, coated ribs with a pork dry rub (you could use any type) & added 1/2 inch of water to pan, cover with aluminum foil. Bake at 300 for 2 1/2 hrs. Make BBQ sauce while baking. Remove ribs from pan & coat with BBQ if desired....ribs are delicious without also. This satisfies my non BBQ sauce husband!

very good, I did thicken with Wondra to make it more like a gravy. I served over garlic mashed potatos

ground turkey/pork Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I used ground turkey & pork, because of other reviews saying it was bland I really spiced it up. We live in San Diego & I have a Mexican spice called Pozole y Menudo but I use it for salads, soups etc, it's a combo of oregano, chiles, garlic, onion, salt & cilantro seed. I also used V8 to keep it moist, chopped onion. I put on a cookie sheet & baked in a 350 degree oven for 1 hr. Stayed moist & very flavorable.

Black-Eyed Pea Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
I tweaked recipe because of lack of ingredients & still turned out great, I used 2 cans black-eyed peas, 2 cans cannelini beans, 1 can fire roasted diced tomatoes & 4 oz can of whole green chiles, which I chopped. Also added one more cup of broth. Everyone loved it. Easy to make & use what you have!

this was ok, a little bland for our tastes. I would added some canned green chilis to spice it up next time.
