Ultimate Irresistible Granola

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
I had to use two jelly roll pans for this recipe...and I think I even cut it down by half! Blame the wall oven and its size....but! no worries! I will definitely be making this again! I cut down the amount of honey thinking that it would be too sweet with the coconut but follow the recipe please! It will all work out in the end...and experiment with different dried fruits. I omitted the sesame seeds because of an allergy but the rest was just wonderful! Great on yogurt or oatmeal in the morning.

Chicken with Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
This was REALLY yummy!! I ended up using Cream of Onion soup because that's all I had on hand. One of the chicken breasts was frozen because I decided at the last minute to up the number of chicken breasts I used but after 4.5 hours it all turned out spectacular! If you're looking for a good hearty meal that's easy to make this is your recipe! Thanks for sharing!!! Oh, and I also used chicken flavored stuffing mix instead of the corn bread one. Maybe next time I'll use that just to actually follow the recipe! :)

Cheesy Baked Eggplant

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
I didn't really care for it...actually, not true. The only part I liked was the eggplant because I had breaded and fried it before putting it in the pan...I would suggest using a smaller pan, maybe 8x8 or 9x9 and layering all the ingredients so that you can get the yummy eggplant in more places than just the bottom!

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
This is a great recipe for rib steaks! It's what I had on hand to use and it turned out great! This is what I did to tweak it a bit: 3 rib steaks, bone-in with salt and pepper seasoning; 1 envelope of onion mushroom dry soup mix on top; added 4 ounce can of mushrooms & stems; diluted can of cream of mushroom with half can water, worcestershire sauce, garlic and poured that over the beef; added the wine & flour mix after that and set it off to cook for 7 hours. I didn't have the full amount of sour cream on hand so I used the very little amount of stuff I put on baked potatoes that already has onion and chives mixed in. After it was all said and done, minus the bones and some fat from the meat, I would certainly make this recipe again hands down. Serve it with egg noodles for a crowd pleasing dinner!

Easy Herb Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I've used a nesco or roaster to make my turkeys for the past three years, and every year I always forget that it takes much LESS time to cook my bird then in the oven! I think the first year I used my roaster I turned up the heat to brown the top but in subsequent years I just made sure that the bird wasn't overcooked and dry. We're not into presentation as much...we just like the food to be done when we want to eat!! I would highly recommend this be cooked in a nesco if you have issues with oven space, or just want to try something new. The temperature given in the recipe is spot on, at least from the standpoint of using a nesco. The time it took to cook my turkey was less, about 2-3/4 hours so I had to lower the temp and keep basting until it was time to carve. All in all, I would definitely use this recipe again.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
okay, I've made this two years in a row for Thanksgiving Day and both times it has been a hit! This year however, I forgot to add the egg before it started cooking but no worries! It was fixed by just adding more broth...in fact, I didn't even realize I had forgotten the egg until the next day when I was putting the recipe copy away! I let it cook for about 3.5-4 hours...no more time is needed. Next time I make it I will add raisins and maybe some chestnuts...this recipe is a keeper! Who doesn't love saving oven space, not to mention time, on such a busy day!?

Best Ever Caramel Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I made this for Thanksgiving this year instead of the traditional pumpkin pie. It was a hit, even though I forgot to add the caramel topping!! I wanted to shortcut it so I bought sundae caramel topping, which was forgotten in the refrigerator but the next time I make it I will follow the directions and make the caramel topping. Also paired it with ice cream- plain vanilla will do! YUMMO.

Very, Very, Very Good Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
Mine is still baking and I would start out by suggesting that a bigger pan is used because it has overflowed and still has 30 minutes left to bake. I have never made a recipe like this and don't know if I will again. Thank god for the roasting pan or my oven would be a mess. Sorry Honeybake...I've made better but we'll see!

Folks, if you don't have a trifle bowl, get one!! It helps the presentation...anywho, this turned out great! All my guests loved it- but next time I'd use a lot more brownies in it and less pudding & cream. And use Heath bits that are already crushed for you- saves on prep time!!

Slow Cooker Cheesy Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
I tweaked this recipe a bit and it turned out great!! Instead of the canned cheddar soup, I used 2 cups of shredded Mild Cheddar cheese, mixed in 8 ounces of sour cream, and 1 can of cream of chicken soup, undiluted. Also just before serving time, I threw most of it into a greased baking dish, put crushed cornflakes doused in butter on top of that, and put it in the oven for about 10 minutes or so to crisp up the top. Fabulous! Will make this again. Very easy.

Italian Peas

I tweaked my recipe just a bit...instead of just peas, I used the petite peas and pearl onions so I omitted the onions called for in the recipe. Got rave reviews and will make it again!

Yummy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
I used only 2 thick boneless chops and 1 cup of zesty italian dressing and they turned out wonderful!! I served them with a side of long grain and wild rice mix, forgot the veggies but oh well- still was a delicious meal. Thanks very much!

Easy Creamy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
I just made this last night and haven't had a chance to actually sit down and eat it but let me tell you this recipe is a keeper!! I added about 4 potatoes cut into chunks and some baby carrots- also added an additional can of soup, undiluted, which made the best gravy for the pork! I also used 2 tenderloins which I seasoned and seared in a pan before putting into the slow cooker. YUMMY.

Ham Tetrazzini

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
I liked this recipe because it was a twist to my normal chicken tetrazzini that I make and my husband loves but...I tweaked a few things. Instead of the bell pepper I used frozen peas and also used chopped onions. The only beef I have with this recipe is that I would not use the cream base- substitute it with an undiluted can of soup, like cream of mushroom or celery just to give it that creamy thickness that I didn't get from what was called for. Other than that, I would definitely make it again.

Chicken Tetrazzini I

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2006
I've made modified versions of this dish twice now and every time that I make it my husband always raves about it! 1. Spaghettini or ready cut spaghetti instead of what's called for. 2. I put in a cup of frozen peas and 1 chopped red bell pepper. 3. I substituted 1 cream of celery soup for cream of chicken. 4. Instead of trying to cook 4 chicken breasts I used 2 large cans of cooked chicken to lessen the prep time. 5. Last thing I did was baked biscuits on top during the last 15 minutes of bake time just because we love biscuits and it went well with the creaminess of the dish. Yummy.

Soy Milk Smoothie

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2005
I added an extra banana and didn't use the equal- chose regular sugar. To me, the smoothie turned out great....but to my picky husband, he was wanting it to be a lot sweeter and the equal probably would have cured that. I would definitely make this again, and maybe used more berry than banana next time.

Rhubarb Crumble Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2002
For my first attempt at making anything with rhubarb, I'd say this recipe was the easiest. Just an FYI though....I suggest baking the pie shell a bit before you put in the ingredients so that you have a crispier pie in the end!
