About this Cook
I'm 28 years old and cooking is definitely a passion of mine. My mom was an amazing cook and she enjoyed it a lot. I hope to one day be as great of a cook as she was.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts just because they look so pretty. I also really have fun making any kind of finger food because I do most of my cooking for potlucks and want it to be easy to eat. The look of the food is almost as important to me as the taste so I am drawn to making food that looks pretty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up the rule was whoever cooks doesn't have to clean up...made cooking even more desirable :-) Homemade bread, pasta, mayo, and other things that people typically don't make themselves... always made it seem special that we made it ourselves.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to make homemade mac and cheese just the way my mom used to, and basically every successful recipe is a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
Right after my mom died I tried to make her homemade mac and cheese and it turned out horrible. Made me want to quit cooking. Pecan pies for Thanksgiving that refused to set.

Raspberry Sauce
This is a great recipe for raspberry sauce and always turns out great. I strain the seeds when I make it because I hate getting little seeds stuck in my teeth and I think it makes it look nicer.

Easy OREO Truffles
These were really fun and easy to make. I took them to a potluck at my church and got tons of compliments! I made them with several kinds of oreos...peanut butter, mint, fudge, and regular. Loved them all!

Pizza Rolls
Great recipe! A tiny bit time consuming but definitely worth the effort and I didn't find it to be difficult at all. I think having some experience with working with egg roll wrappers is helpful but even if you don't, once you get used to it it's fairl easy and fun. I personally layered the ingredients and left the pepperoni whole and it worked out great. These are a million times better then any store bought pizza rolls.
