Chicken Broccoli Shells

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
This was an exciting recipe for the kids, they liked how the pasta shells looked on their plate :) Yummy too, next time I will pour more alfredo sauce over the shells before they bake, like others suggested.

Chicken Fiesta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
This is definitely a five out of five! I didn't have to change a thing, except for adding cheddar cheese on top. LOVED it!

Southern Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Excellent recipe! Instead of just salt and pepper I added Creole seasoning and extra paparika. The other reviews on here were also very helpful! Especially the one about putting the chicken in ice water and salt to get rid of the veins, it really worked, wow! That is a hint I will use for the rest of my life! I also followed other reviewers and let the chicken sit for a few minutes after dredging it in flour and then put it in the flour again right before frying. If you like a thick fried breading, this is the way to do it! Also, to make sure my oil was at 365, because I have a gas stove and no thermometer, I heated up my pan of oil in the oven at 365 and then put it on the stove with a medium flame. I didn't have any flour coming off the chicken as it went into the oil. I waited about 8 minutes before turning the chicken, and then after another 8 minutes I turned it again, so I did turn the chicken a couple of times, but it came out fine. I was just worried about burning it, but it came out GREAT!

Peachy Moist Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2011
We really liked the flavor of these muffins. I wish I would have put some kind of cinnamon sugar topping on them though, that would have really added to it. I made half of them with the paper muffin cups and half without (because I ran out). I noticed that the ones in the paper cups cooked better, but the others were slightly mushy in the middle. The ones in the paper cups kept their form better too, because these are really soft muffins.

Cherry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
Made this for dessert on fathers day and it was very yummy! I reduced the butter, but I think next time I may use the amount stated in the recipe. I was able to tilt the pan and spread the melted puddled butter around the top once it was out of the oven and had cooled. So good!

Easy Peach Crisp II

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
I absolutely love this! I only had about a cup and a half of fresh peaches so I halved the recipe. Next time I will use more peaches, maybe double or triple them.

I used butter instead of shortening and these muffins came out very very good. They are light and fluffy and really tasty.

Orange Glorious II

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
I read all the reviews that talked about using less sugar but I wanted to try the recipe as written. It did turn out to be super sweet, but it was still really good. My husband thought it was perfect though, so I would suggest that the amount of sugar used should be to your personal preference. Next time I will only use 1/4 cup.

Vintage Lemonade

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
It takes a lot longer to make than regular lemonade but we thought it was great! I used the potato peeler and peeled only the yellow skin off the lemon. I can't wait to make more!

Taco Bake

Reviewed: May 20, 2011
It was easy to change this up so I could use what I had in the cupboard. Used one 8 ounce can tomato sauce and 1 can rotel. Did not have any taco seasoning so I just seasoned my meat with garlic powder and pepper. Still came out delicious and I think having the diced tomato in it was better then without

Strawberry Cobbler I

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
Next time (there will be a next time) I will add another cup or more of strawberries, double the cobbler topping but not add more water. Pretty liquidy as is. The topping was hardly enough to cover the strawberries in the baking dish. But it was reallllly good!

Apple Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
I made this when some family came to visit and we snacked on it all day. Very yummy! I think if I make it again I will try everybody else's idea of half brown and half white sugar. And maybe more cinnamon. Some walnuts too :)

Zucchini Raspberry Cupcakes

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
The batter was pretty dry and as soon as I folded in the raspberries they smooshed and broke up :( Still, they were good, and with some whipped cream on top, the kids unknowingly had zucchini for dessert!

This was delicious but I have to take off a star because I followed the recipe exactly and never really got it much to a whipped consistency, it was pretty thin and glazey.

Ham and Cheese Pasta Bake

This was good and easy to throw together. I did not cook the pasta before I baked it and it turned out fine, just mixed it a couple times part way through cooking.
