Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
This came out so delicious! I subbed chicken broth for the white wine. After an hour I added carrots and potatoes, and sprinkled some salt on them. At the end I put in the broiler for a couple of minutes. SO good! The meat was so tender, the veggies perfect. Great recipe!

Best Ziti Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2014
This was all right, but not the best ever. Next time I would use half the noodles, but keep everything else the same. I added garlic and onion too.

Baked Pork Chops with Apple Raisin Stuffing

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2014
The stuffing was a bit dry, but still good. I added diced apples to mine. Also added Cajun seasoning to the pork chops. I had thin bone in chops, and they cooked perfectly in 40 minutes. Overall good recipe!

Cheesy Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2014
The cream sauce is great. I added my own spices - basil, pepper, red pepper flakes and oregano. I added diced instead of stewed tomatoes. My sauce simmered on the stove for a while as I waited for my husband to get home from work. End result was awesome!

Pasta with Peas and Sausage

Reviewed: May 13, 2014
This was a great, quick dinner. I'm rating it a four because the cream sauce would have been too thin without my adding flour to make a roux. So I added the butter, about 1.5 tbsp flour, blended, and then slowly added the cream, then simmered until thick. I also added chopped onion in with the sausage (used smoked beef sausage), and added basil and red pepper flakes, as other reviewers suggested. It was quick, easy, and very tasty!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
I made this, following the recipe exactly, except for adding some corn starch to thicken up the sauce. My husband really liked it, and I liked the Cajun flavor on the chicken. Next time I am going to add some kielbasa, and an additional bell pepper!

This was delicious. I added shredded chicken, and instead of water, I used the chicken broth from the chicken that I boiled.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
I left out the sugar, but this was still plenty sweet. The kids didn't realize that it had oatmeal in it, but I thought it was a bit grainy tasting but not too bad. I blended longer than usual, too. I will make this again, maybe trying that trick from another reviewer about soaking the oatmeal in milk first.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2014
This was great! My kids have made this twice now, and it's simple, and has a creamy, sweet, not too overpowering pumpkin taste. We used a graham cracker crust, which was perfect.

New Year's Day Black-Eyed Peas

I halved the recipe, added more ham, and used a can of Rotel tomatoes. It was very good! I personally enjoyed the kick that the tomatoes gave it, but everyone may not like that.

Homesteader Cornbread

We liked this recipe. It had a good taste, and it doesn't crumble at a touch, so it was easy to pick up and eat. My only change was that I had to use half white and half brown sugar, because I ran out.

Roasted Garlic Zucchini and Tomatoes

I wish I would have added more zuchinni, and less olive oil. I also sliced my onion instead of minced, so I would be able to pick it up with my fork.
