So my younger sister has been visiting for almost three weeks now and when she came home to visit us she was tired, worn out and the most exhausted I have ever seen her. She has a toddler and goes to school and her husband hasn't been helping her around the house even though she is going… MORE

About this Cook
I'm a mom of 3 and college student. I love allrecipes! I've learned how to cook through this site. I have actually become a pretty good cook! My favorite thing to do is try a new recipe, and then sometimes I find one that will become a regular. There has been many great changes in our family's lives since I started learning how to cook. We have lost weight and are all more healthy. And we rarely eat out anymore, why should we when I can cook something that tastes so much better here at home?
My favorite things to cook
I love casseroles, and cobblers and anything with sausage!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Don't really have any traditions yet. I just want my kids to remember eating dinner together as a family every night!
My cooking triumphs
I just made my very first pie completely from scratch (the glazed apple cream pie from this site) for thanksgiving and it came out wonderful! I think this cured me of my fear of making pies.
My cooking tragedies
Lets just say the flan didn't work out. Now I know you don't make flan in a spring form pan!!

Watergate Salad
We liked it! Didn't drain the pineapple, and added a sprinkle of pecans on top. Wonderful!

Joe's Mom's Sausage and Tortellini Soup
Very good! I left out the carrots, but didn't miss it. We loved the spicy kick of this soup!

Fettuccini Carbonara
Very good, the whole family loved it. I chopped the bacon, added some diced chicken, and did not add the shallots. Easy and delicious!
