Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2004
These were excellent!! No joke. My son and his friend thought they were from See's. I used light brown sugar and no nuts. I used an entire sleeve of saltine crackers; I lined the baking pan with half the crackers and crushed the remainder in my hands and sprinkled them over the whole crackers. I did this because of some of the reviews I had read about these being a little greasy. The additional thickness of the crackers soaked up the butter perfectly. Next time I will probably crush all the crackers, so they are easier to cut into a variety of shapes. I will absolutely make these again and again. They were AWESOME!!

Cake Mix Cookies VII

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2002
These cookies are wonderful. My son devoured three and wanted more. A friend stopped by and had five. The only change I made to the recipe was adding one teaspoon salt. I used the yellow cake mix, added 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips to half the batch, and topped the remainder with sprinkles (similar to sugar cookies). Very, very good cookies that look great out of the oven.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2002
I have rated these 4 stars, BUT the recipe can be adjusted to yield 5 star cookies. Double the granulated sugar and add 2 teaspoons of salt. I baked for max of 10 mins. These cookies look beautiful, unlike the flat appearance of the Nestle Toll House recipe, and taste even better.

Calzone

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2002
Very, very good!! I, too, made the dough w/o a bread machine. I let it rise for about 30 mins. The dough turned out wonderfully, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. I sprinkled garlic powder and basil after brushing with butter to add some seasoning and color. Excellent!!

Banana Bread IV

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2002
I used this recipe for muffins - bake 23 minutes. To quote my husband, "These are the best muffins I've ever had." I halved the recipe, used 3 bananas, which yielded almost 2 dozen muffins. I added 1/2 cup chocolate chips to half the batch for the choco-holics in the family.

Poppy Seed Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2002
This recipe can be used for muffins - bake about 23 minutes. They turned out very moist and so easy. I just threw everything together, except poppy seeds, in a medium bowl and blended. I added 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, reduced oil to 3/4 cup, and added 3/4 cup apple sauce. Thanks for the recipe!!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2002
Okay, we are sold on this dough!! We are connoisseurs of anything Italian and this is the best!! I followed some of the suggestions and added 1 tsp garlic, 1 tsp basil, only 2 1/2 cups of flour, olive rather than vegetable oil, and let rise for 30 mins. I also bake the crust alone for 5-7 mins then add my toppings. Yum, Yum.

Savory Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2002
These are the best cinnamon buns we have ever had!! My family cannot get enough. The only adjustments I've made are reducing the flour to 4 cups and doubling the yellow cake mix to 18 oz. This makes the dough a little sweeter. They are to die for. Thanks for the recipe!!!
