Firecracker Crackers

These are fantastic, but has anyone ever tried to make these with less oil? Seems like a lot to me!

Rhubarb Crisp

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2013
I made the recipe as written, and I didn't care for the texture. I expected a crumble and this was too floury. HOWEVER, the flavor was WONDERFUL!!! (it's the flavor that counts anyway, right??) I'm glad I tried it and will make it again. Thanks for sharing!

Black-Eyed Pea Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Per other reviews, I added some cajun spices and hot sauce as well. For those who thought it was missing something, add a 1/4 c brown sugar. It brings out the spices. I made with ham, but can't wait to try andoulle sausage next time. Also, I had only canned tomatoes with oregano and basil in it. You could also use some canned salsa you don't quite care for as salsa! I did not have peppers and was too lazy to go to the store, so maybe that was my 'needed something else' complaint, but that was my own fault. EXCELLENT base recipe! So many ways to tweek it to what you have in the pantry! Glad I stubbled across this one!

Love this recipe, but don't use FAT FREE Cool Whip. Too runny.

Reuben Soup

I'm not a fan of ruebens but my husband is so I made this for him. He loved the flavor, but wasn't crazy for the rye on top. (toasted the rye bread and it got soggy) He would have rather have had a piece of toast. I will definately make this for him again. Thanks for sharing!

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Two things: DO NOT use fat free or even light cream cheese. That will make them gooey. You need the fat in the cheese to make these set properly. If you are making these, chances are you are not really caring about the calories and fat content anyway! ;) Also, crush a pkg of Oreos and add to the cheese mixture, then dip them. That will help absorb some of the 'goo' too. DELISH!

Almond Puff

Excellent! I lost my recipe, so glad I found yours. My recipe didn't have a frosting recipe, it called for a can of white frosting. So if you are feeling lazy or time is an issue... I will try your frosting recipe to see which I like better. Thanks for sharing.

Passion Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2011
Rave reviews from everyone tonight, although my bars didn't turn out like the picture. I used old fashioned oats and mini choc chips, only bc that's all I had on hand. I did not follow the advise of one reviewer and I should have heated up the PB mixture, it would have been a lot easier, but maybe bc the PB I had was not very creamy and was more dry. I may add coconut or walnuts next time but these are excellent as written! Thank you so much for sharing!

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
If you don't have Italian dressing, try boiling together 1/2 c each of oil vinegar and sugar. I add a little S&P with it, maybe a dash of garlic powder if I'm moved... My girls gobble it up. LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe.
