San Francisco Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2013
I cooked this while visiting my parents. Needed a simple recipe to use up ingredients they already had in their pantry or fridge. The prep time took longer because I was in someone else's kitchen, but it turned out great!!! Making this for my husband on Father's Day.

This is more like a pound cake; rich and moist. Everybody loved it. Easy to make.

Mashed Potato Casserole

My family loved this dish. It tastes just like a loaded baked potato, but better. You don't have to put out all those toppings.

Company Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2012
This is a keeper!!!! It came out great. Easy to make. I left out the mushrooms because I don't like them and used a larger tomato instead. I cooked it in an electric fry pan.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
My family loved this recipe! However, just like some other reviewers have mentioned, it does taste a bit too salty. I will definitely make this again, but will use low-sodium soy sauce and nix the tsp of salt. Also, if you like a thicker sauce, just add some cornstarch (mixed with a little cold water) and stir a couple of minutes before serving.

Italian Almond Cookies II

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
This recipe tastes just like the almond cookies you find in an Italian bakery - which is exactly what I was looking for :) Next time I make them, I'm going to roll only the "top" part of the dough in the sliced almonds, though.

Home-Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
These are great. If I want to serve them as breakfast potatoes, I complete step 1 and step 2 the night before and refrigerate the potatoes and peppers/onions in separate containers until ready for step 3.

French Toast Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
Although I followed the directions and checked for doneness, it came out soggy on the bottom. Family liked the taste, but not the texture.

Family-Style French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
Ingredients are perfect, but I changed the directions a bit to save myself the fuss first thing in the morning. I put the brown sugar, butter and cinnamon on the bottom as directed. Then I placed the plain bread in the pan over the topping. Next, I poured the egg mixture evenly over the top of each slice. I covered the pan and put it in the refrigerator overnight. I popped it in the oven the next morning and baked uncovered. This method allows me to fool others into thinking I'm a "morning person".

Dilly Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
This is a great recipe to liven-up plain ol'scrambled eggs. I like this better than egg casseroles because I can still have choices of which breakfast meats to serve as sides.

Rolling out the dough took a bit of elbow grease, but well worth it. Very popular at brunch.

My entire family has voted this recipe the BEST banana pudding they have ever eaten. Two of them don't even like bananas! I followed the directions exactly as written. Give it plenty of time to chill in the refridgerator before serving.

Layered Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
Fresh, easy and colorful - I brought this to a co-workers luncheon. Everybody loved it. I used canned peaches because fresh wasn't in season. I did keep the pecans in a separate bowl with it's own spoon out of consideration for those with allergies.

Oven-Roasted Asparagus

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
Excellent recipe because it tastes great and is super easy & quick to prepare! I put the asparagus and oil in a bowl with a leak-proof lid and shake it together first. Then add the rest of the ingredients and shake again until the asparagus is evenly coated.
