Monkey Meat

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2013
I don't get why this is so amazing, but it is!! We use filet mignon steaks quartered and the crockpot on low for 4-6 hours. I also don't put all the spicy peppers in, just a tiny bit. It must be the combo of everything plus the meat juices or something, because it is delicious. Last time I made it, I made sure to eat all the leftovers before my dearest honey could and I even drank the juice! Crazy good!

WOAH!! Crazy good! Making it tomorrow for company 2nd time this week. Same with other reviewers, double spices (but not salt) and rub it under skin. It's an instant favorite!

Soul Smothered Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
Tastes like a homemade stew! I had a whole chicken and am tired of always making beer can chicken with them, so found this recipe, happened to have all the ingredients, and WOW! Great, down home meal with a little kick. We loved it and have enough leftovers for 2 more meals. This is worth cooking up again or sharing the recipe with friends. Next time I will use less carrots and add small, quartered butter potatoes.

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Mmmazing!!! My sister-in-law made this for us when we visited them and it was so deliscous. I was sure it was a secret family recipe until she told me where to find it. Very good, hearty veggie stew that is winter-perfect! It's joining our Thanksgiving menu this year for sure!

Blue Cheese and Pear Tartlets

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Different, but not 5 stars. I think even adding a little cream cheese and drizling honey on top, it's still overly sour. Maybe cut the cheese in half so the sweet pear note is heavier. As is, feels like you could get a stomach ache quickly from just a few of these. I will modify it more before serving to guests for sure.
