Doberge Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Very good. Not as sweet as I thought it would be, which is a good thing. Followed the directions exact, and no lie... there's a lot going on but I was pleased with the outcome.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Heaven

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Delish! Used a whole bag of choc. chips, other than that followed recipe exactly. Mine were a little fluffier than I like but I think that's because I didn't flatten them enough.

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
Loved this! I halved it for 18 cupcakes and still had leftovers. I did 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening and added cocoa powder to make chocolate. Will use on most cakes/cupcakes I make from now on!

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
Oh my goodness! I've been searching for a chicken noodle soup recipe for a long time. Previous ones never seem to turn out right. I absolutely loved this one. It was simple but so flavorful. I did make a few minor adjustments... I used a lot more carrots than called for. I did use 4 c. swanson chicken broth and 8 c. water with 5 bouillon cubes. I skipped the marjoram, only for a lack of having it on hand. And I did everything in the crock pot. I cooked my chicken in there earlier in the day, then added everything else. I will definitely be making this again and again!

Classic Caramel Corn

I've made this every year for Christmas for I don't know how long and it still continues to be everyone's favorite! The only problem I seem to have is I can't make it fast enough!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
So this I will try again. They smell wonderful and I love the idea, the whole middle caved in terribly and I could hardly get them out of the pan. I think after reading all the reviews I was so paranoid about overcooking that I took them out prematurely. And I also think I took the advice to make larger cookie dough balls way to far, mine were small golf ball sized. Maybe next time smaller balls and longer time in the oven. UPDATE!! Made again and cooked them a touch longer and they were absolutely perfect! I had everyone raving about them at work and have had special requests for them!

Fried Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
It's a good base to the batter. I did it to the recipe the first time, and the batter was a little bland. I however made a few changes the next time and they were much better. I added Red Robin season to it as well as some garlic powder and papkria. And if you have a counter top fryer with a basket, don't use the basket, the batter seeps through and they stick terrible.

I don't think I'll be making these again. They were a little bland. I followed the recipe exactly and they just weren't "right"

Being from Florida, I had to try this. It's exactly what you would get in Key West! It reminds me of home everytime I make it.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Depending on what I'm using this for I change it a bit. I never use the almond extract, mainly because I don't keep it on hand. I usually follow the recipe except half the cream for a french silk pie because it holds up a lot better. But for cakes and cupcakes I follow it exact and it's still great.

Great and versatile! I like it with pasta and a spinach florentine red sauce. I usually butterfly the chicken breasts and double the dry ingredients.

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
I would not call this the best toffee ever. I followed the directions to the letter and I got a strange semblance of what toffee should be. I think the general idea is ok, but I'll be doing some tweaking of my own next time.
