My name's Libby, I'm 26 from Southwest Florida and relocated to NC. I wouldn't say that I love it here; but I do love my job. I'm a veterinary assistant at an amazing animal hospital, so living here is worth it for now. I have one dog that I love like my child. I'm a self taught/innovative kind of cook. I try to always do new things and am a big "tweaker" and have a terrible habit of just eyeballing stuff to make it work.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything and everything. I don't like the grill very much; I don't even care to learn how to operate the thing. I'd say that my favorite things are the things I haven't done yet. I do a lot of candy and such for the holidays which grows every year and I love it as much as making a new chicken dinner on Wednesday night.
My favorite family cooking traditions
It would definitely have to be Christmas Eve. My dad would cook a ham late after we all went driving around looking at Christmas lights so we could have ham biscuits on Christmas morning after we opened all our presents. A tradition that I still carry on every year.
My cooking triumphs
I recently mastered a copycat of Perkin's french silk pie that's simply to die for. My next goal... the chocolate souffle. Wish me luck.
