Family Banana Nut Bread Recipe

I used 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup brown sugar, a pinch of salt, 1 tsp vanilla and instead of nuts 1 cup mini choco chips. Best banana bread ever.

Salisbury Steak

after adjustments 5 stars. Leave out catusp. add worsteshire to meat{not in sauce} add can of cream of mushroom soup and 1 can evap millk to sauce and some beef stock till right consistancy. serve with mashed potatoes and italian green peas.

Grandma Chase's Nanaimo Bars

I used coconut instead of nuts because my husband cannot eat nuts. I thought these bars were just okay. There wasnt anything wrong with the recipe, it turned out just like the picture. The flavor of the bars were not to my liking. I doubt that I would ever make these again. Its still sitting in my frig and no one is eating it.

Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops

this was so good, everyone loved it. I added scant tablespoon of sesame oil and 4 cloves of chopped garlic and marinaded it for 24 hours, grill. serve with garlicy pasta and salad and garlic bread. Leftovers make the best sandwich ever.

Grandma's Noodles II

these noodles were easy to make and so good. I added them to homemade chicken noodle soup.I did follow advise of one of the reviews and added additional egg and extra 1/2 cup of flour. The whole family really liked these noodles to their surprise.. I will make these again.

Seven Layer Salad

I followed the recipe without any changes and its really good. Next time I think I will add dsg then top with the cheddar cheese because of appearance of it. Its appearance just wasnt as appealing to me with the salad dressing on top.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

This was easy and so good. My chicken breasts were not completely thawed out, but it was not a problem. I added 1 can cream of chicken and 1 can cream of celery. I also added small bag of petite fresh carrots and 1 tsp poultry seasoning. 1tbsp chicken base and chicken stock instead of water. I used 1 large can of buttermilk biscuits cut into 6 pieces each{the grand biscuits}. Any more biscuits would have been too much although they were one of the best parts of this. I cooked total time of 5 hours with biscuits added last 2 hours of cooking.

Toll House® Blonde Brownies

followed recipe except added 1 bag butterscotch chips and 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips. I baked for 20 min but next time will bake 22-25 mins. Everyone loves theses.

Chicken Marsala

I have used this recipe for a number of years now.I use only 4 tablespoons of fat, either all olive oil or 2 of olive oil and 2 of butter and I use only Marsala wine, 1 cup and add 8 oz sliced mushrooms. Will try with a little haf and half added, have not tried that before. I usually add a little chicken stock till it is the consistancy that I like to add over pasta.

Baked Spaghetti I

First time making a baked speghetti and it was delicious. What I did different: 1 heaping tsp chopped garlic and fresh mushrooms instead of canned. I under cooked spaghetti serveral minutes so it wouldnt turn into mush in the over. I added the cream of mushroom soup to meat mixture then added the spaghetti and mixed well together. Once in casserole dish topped with mixture of provalone and mozzerella d/t didnt have any cheddar.

Chocolate Chip Date Cake

This cake is rediculously good. I have never made a cake with dates in it before, but I will now continue to make this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly except I left the nuts out because my husband cannot eat nuts of any kind. I dont think it needed nuts anyway, they certainly were not missed. The dates are not visible and there flavor is subtle and give this cake the best texture, moist but not wet. THis recipe is a keeper.
