Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2012
these tasted so much like reese's peanut butter cups! Per some other reviews I only used 1 stick of butter, I also added an extra 1/2 cup of peanut butter to the mixture (when I made them the 1st time I tasted more of hte graham cracker crumbs than I would have preferred) and I used milk chocolate choclate chips (the whole bag) rather than the semi-sweet ones (althought I don't think it will make difference which ones you use).

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
My husband says this beats out any strawberry shortcake receipe that he has ever eaten and to top that this has moved to the top of the dessert list of stuff that I make (for that to beat out cinnamon chip cookies and triple chocolate cake is pretty something). Anyway, I made a few slight changes, but most of it stayed the same... I used 2 quarts of fresh strawberries -- using about 1 1/2 quarts to mix in the glaze and the other on top of the strawberry glaze mixture. I used a store bought glaze (because I didn't have a whole lot of time) that wasn't the name brand kind nor was it the generic brand and it wasn't half bad. I also ended up using about 12 oz of whipped topping and added a touch of vanilla to the cream cheese and whipped topping mixture. Thanks to TABKAT for great receipe!!

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
This had a pretty good taste and helped liven up the usual potato dish. I took the advise of other reviewers and only did 2 tbls of butter, which I melted and added the spices to it and then poured over the potatoes and mixed. Some others said they didn't like the warm ranch dressing taste and maybe they didn't put the potatoes back in the oven for the 10 minutes after adding that and the cheese because I couldn't tell it was/used to be dressing (I think it baked into the potatoes during that time). Anyway, everyone liked them and it will be placed in the "rotation".

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
This was pretty dang good. I did make a few changes based on some other reviews. I used chicken tenders, put bread crumbs on the bottom of the casserole dish (genius!), use a handful of pizza cheese (had little left in the bag and I wanted to use it up) along with the cheddar cheese, panko bread crumbs instead of regualar bread crumbs, italian seasoning instead of the oregano and parsley (the grinder kind) and some ranch dressing mix. The kids loved it so I will defintely be making again!

Basil Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
This dish was very good and my extremly picky 6 year old ate it up (quite an accomplishment when all he wants is hotdogs and mac n' cheese). I added a bunch of italian seasoning (the grinder kind, which has more flavor) along with the basil called for. only thing I recommend is eating it up all the night you make it because the leftovers turned to a brick the next day. It was very easy to make and I will make again!

Sausage Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
these were pretty good when first made but even better the next day, cold! I cut the cresent roll dough into squares and put in the mini muffiin tin and cooked them that way with some added italian seasoning and even a little bit of taco cheese mixed in. I actually liked them better the next day and did not reheat them. I will make again.

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
This was not very good. It wasn't unedible but not very appetizing at the same time. I seasoned the heck out if it (and the meat) and it was still bland. Overall concept was good but end product not so much.

Chicken and Gnocchi Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
This was pretty good. I actually used 6 cups of chicken broth, did not add the cornstarch/water mixture as others said not to and I also added some thyme and it turned out great. my husband was pretty skeptical when I told him about it (he asked what other meat was in it) but once he got home, smelled it and tasted it he couldn't stop eating it.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
My husband said this is the best stroganoff he has ever had. I used ground meat instead of the cube meat (only because my kids will eat the ground meat). I also could not find golden mushroom soup so I used roasted garlic and mushroom soup instead. And I used beef broth in place of the water. The taste was wonderful and I will be making this version from now on.

Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
This was great! I left this up to my husband (who is not a cook at all) to make and he did pretty good with it. I had the veggies cut up and the spices in container so all he had to do was dump those in the pot then he added rice and noodles to the mix and it turned out awesome!

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
These were very good. They only change I made was cutting down on the salt as others suggested.

Make-Ahead Vegetable Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2011
This was ok... it lacked something that I have yet to pinpoint. There were mixed reviews on this by my family -- some liked it and some did not. Not a bad way to use up the fresh veggies from the garden though!

Pizza On The Grill I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
The pizza was pretty good but I think I will need to add some more "spice" to it to make them great. As long as you have everything you need with you at the grill they are pretty easy to do.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
These were good -- once I was finally finished making them. I ran out of chocolate to cover them with and I used 8 oz of it. There was too much in-between time before they were finally done which kind of turned me off from them, but the end result was pretty good.

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
I followed this recipe as directed and they were horrible -- not fluffy, no flavor, dry and all I tasted was flour. Not sure what I did wrong but I will not be making these ever again.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
I have made these a few times now and they are truly excellent. So fluffy and great taste. I have to double though because 8 pancakes is just not enough for my family.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
This cake was incredible! I followed exactly as directions stated -- well I guess I did one minor change... used mini chocolate chips --- and I will definelty be making this again. Whenever I think of cake I always think of icing as well but this cake does not need it. A definite must for everyone to try!

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
The best way to describe this is... AMAZING, WONDERFUL, DELICOUS, GREAT, AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I did this recipe as listed but left out the liquid smoke (not a fan of the smoke flavor) and the whisky (didn't have any) but I really don't think it mattered. This is going in the keeper file for sure!

Baked Ziti III

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
This was pretty good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the store bought sauce -- next time I will make my own. I did as other reviewers suggested and mixed the noodles with the sour cream. I also used shredded pizza cheese since it had the mozarella and the provolone cheeses all in one. And I also added meatballs to give it a little something extra.
