About this Cook
I dont have a bread machine but I do have a Kitchen Aid mixer and a Cuisineart. I could spend the day in the kitchen. Being the eldest girl of a large family, I had to cook a lot while growing up. I could make a meal out of mustard, spaghetti noodles and bologna. We had to make do with what little we had and it taught me how flavours blend with each other.
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love to bake breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Although I absolutely love to cook for people, who can resist a pot-luck Thanksgiving. Grandmas mashed potatoes (lumps and all), moms stuffing, mashed turnip and carrots, cherry cheesecake from uncle Randy and everyone together and now we have 2 kiddie tables with a whole new bunch of kids to carry on the traditions.
My cooking triumphs
I have had several original recipes published in various magazines such as Canadian Living and Food Fit. I have won ribbons at our fall fair for my bread and butter pickles and I have just won a cooking contest hosted by Carnation.
My cooking tragedies
While running out the door to pick up my eldest daughter after gymnastics, I turned on my oven to preheat. When I returned my house was full of synthetic smelling smoke. I had forgotten about the dirty Tupperware and pans I had shoved in there to be cleaned when I wasn't so lazy. OOPS!

Oven-Roasted Boneless Leg of Lamb
My Aunt suggested this recipe for me to serve. I, and as well as my Father found your marinade to be far to overpowering. Sorry but a tender leg of lamb has a delicate flavour that shouldn't be compromised by to many other flavors and should never be placed in a crock pot. I will however, try your marinade the next time I try a stewed lamb for rice. The flavour of the spice should prove to be pleasant.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
Didn't have buttermilk so I used the buttermilk powder and regular full fat milk. I always keep the powder on hand for pancakes as I can't get through the carton before it spoils. Well, DARN GREAT I SAY! Thank you very much Bethany's Grandmother! 5 big stars! Teresa
