About this Cook
Busy person. I enjoy cooking, but I have many other things I enjoy as well so I prefer fast simple recipes that taste amazing. If there's too much prep required, or the recipe calls for ingredients that I rarely have or will struggle to find... it takes all the enjoyment away. I really enjoy recipes that connect me to my various heritages- traditional meals.
My favorite things to cook
Fast, easy, simple, delicious!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma and nana were amazing cooks. My one grandpa was a great cook too. Mom and Dad both are great cooks so I really didn't have to do much cooking growing up.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm my first trifle! Simple but delcious. I was finally convinced I didn't have to slave away to get an amazing dish!
My cooking tragedies
Kale and sausage soup. I saw it in a magazine and it looked tasty. My partner and I dumped the whole batch after 1 spoonful each. Disguisted! I learned to trust my gut feelings on recipes. The ingredients didn't seem like a good fit to me, but I went ahead anyway. So in that respect it wasn't a complete loss.

Apple Tarte Tatin
Tasty and easy to make. I didn't have white sugar, but brown sugar. I used store bought pastry and it worked out nicely. Next time I'll try with the white sugar, which I hope will be tastier caramelized that the brown.
