Almond Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2014
If you love the flavor of almonds, you will heart this recipe. This aromatic, almond cookie comes together quickly and bakes even faster. The most difficult part is: what to drink with these cookies?! :) Almond flavor truly is delicious, even better than vanilla at times.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
The cream cheese filling itself was very yummy. There were times I thought it was too sweet though (and I am a sweet lover to the Nth degree), so I might cut back on it next time or add more lemon juice to balance it out. I improvised by using a slightly smaller rectangular pan to bake the danish in, and as a result there were times where I thought the filling was too much and other times when the flavor of crescent roll was too present, flavorwise. I would definitely make this again. Next time, I'd like to modify this recipe to go inside a puff pastry.

Ham and Cheese Breakfast Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
This was my first time making this recipe. (1) 24 ounces is too much, otherwise the title of the recipe should be "potato quiche." 10 ounces is enough potato for it to adequately cover the bottom of a 9'' pie pan while still leaving room for the remaining ingredients. (2) I followed the times provided, but it cooked faster than I anticipated. I wanted the top of my quiche to be lighter than a dark golden brown. (3) The directions omitted any addition of spices or salt, but I added 1/4 tsp of salt. Verdict: It was creamy, cheesy, and good quiche. Next time, I would like to cook the potatos longer to get a crispier crust perhaps add cilantro or green onions to jazz it up.

Libby's® Pumpkin Roll with Cream Cheese Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
The walnuts add a nice crunch. The cream cheese has just the right amount of sweetness. The pumpkin flavor is subtle. When it all comes together, each mouthful is delicious (even if it isn't as pretty as the main photo).

Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Fabulous! It tasted so good. Next time, I'd probably double the caramel next time. I love the gooey sweet goodness.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
As the primary photo shows, this recipe results in a flaky thin crust. I had been searching for a recipe that was similar to the box varieties available in grocery store (minus those heart damaging trans fats). This recipe bares a striking resemblance to those recipes, so I can indulge in brownies without the partially hydrogenated oils. ;o) I doubled the patch in a 8'' by 8'' pan, baked for 35 minutes (which is a bit undercooked). The result was about 3'' tall, moist, fudgy, and, most importantly, yummy!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
This is creamy veggie chicken goodness. My mother, the picky eater, gobbled it up. This pot pie does a vanishing act; it goes quickly! I recommend basic flaky crust with this recipe.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
As the name of this recipe suggests, the crust is flaky. It really is odd to have to use only 2-3tbs of ice water. One of my pie crusts was extra crumby around the edges; the other crust worked like a charm. Overall, I was very happy with the flavor of this flaky crust.

Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
I wasn't pleased with the consistency of the frosting, as it is described in the recipe. It wasn't as firm or stiff as I wanted it to be. I know the solution to this is to add more confectionery sugar. Flavor wise, it's delish.

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
I cut my fries uniformly and ran them through the batter. Then when I went to fry them, the batter seemed to peel itself right off the fry. It resulted in unevenly coated fries. ;o( I don't know why this happened, and it definitely created the splotchy/uneven appearance of the outcome. The flavor was still there, and it paired nicely with ranch dressing II on allrecipes.com. I'll try it again, sometime in the future.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
I followed it, without any modifications. I found it to be too thick, like a dip rather than a dressing. This flavor of this dressing reminds me of sour cream and onion potato chip. Still overall, I heart the flavor. This recipe is a keeper! ;o)

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
This is what peanut butter out of a jar should taste like; it is sweet fluffy peanut butter flavor I can eat it by itself. The chocolate cake I put it on is bland in comparison. This recipe makes me want to use pb frosting on things other than cake.... like crackers and bread...maybe even plain chocolate.
