Corn Tortillas

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
I think I must have done something wrong because these did not turn out well at all. First of all, my dough wouldn't stick together and was crumbling everywhere, so I had to add more water to keep it together. Then when I rolled the balls out, they started crumbling again and when I tried to cook them, they cooked unevenly. I ended up having to throw the whole thing away and buy tortillas.

This was delicious! I made it for a spanish project and my teacher kept coming back to get more! Even kids who were skeptical about guacamole tried it and liked it! I did change some things about the recipe, though. I started with 1 lime, but added another one because I thought it needed more, I also only did about half a tomato but that's just personal taste. I would probably use a little less salt, because I ended up having to go out to the store and buy another avocado because it was too salty. Also, I suggest using red onions if you're not a huge onion person. It is a lot milder, and add some more color to the guacamole. Anyway, overall I thought this was delicious and would make it again in a heartbeat.

Fresh Tortilla Triangles

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
These were really great! Much better than any tortilla chips you buy at the store! Make sure you have a thermometer before you try this recipe, though. This is completely random, but after I finished making the chips, I had a lot of extra oil, so i fried half of a bagel and then put cinnamon and sugar on it and it tasted just like fried dough! Really, really good! Try it if you have extra time :)
