The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
OK, I made these last night with a few changes based on some of the reviews I read. I kept the crust ingredients the same, but when it came to the filling I detoured a bit. If you want a sweet lemony bar that gives you a PUCKER EFFECT on your first bite, with a good filling to crust ratio, this is what I did...I kept the 4 eggs, increased the sugar to 2 cups, increased the flour to a third of a cup, and used the zest and juice of SIX lemons. These changes took these bars over the top! I had to bake a little longer, and when they were completely cooled I dusted with a little powered sugar. Enjoy!

Five Flavor Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
Soo delicious and easy!!! Followed recipe exactly.UPDATE: How can you change so many ingredients in a recipe and then when it fails, you low rate the recipe? This happens sooo much on this site, and a lot of recipes are actually great, but a low rating can turn some people away before they even try it!!! I'm just sayin'

Mock Chocolate Cookie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2012
I had to write a review of this. I was kind of skeptical about this recipe because it only had one review. I tried it and it is better than an actual Oreo cookie crust. The best part about it, is I always have the ingredients on hand. It was also very easy to put together.

Sour Cream Blueberry Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2013
This is a very delicious coffee cake. I read the reviews about the batter being hard to halve and spread. What I did was drop big spoonfuls of batter in the bottom of the greased pan, then bring the globs of batter together. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of how to halve the batter in the pan. I did the exact same thing with the other half of the batter. I had no problems with it being done this way. I took off one star because this took an hour and twenty-five minutes to bake. At the one hour mark, it wasn't baked in the center. When this had cooled slightly, it was moist, rich and buttery tasting. This really is a great and easy recipe that I will be making again.

This is delicious. It also makes a lot. I used brown basmati rice, and it had to cook a little longer, but still good.

Perfect Ten Baked Cod

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2013
This is a perfect ten recipe! I followed the recipe with the exception of the baking in two stages. I just combined the ingredients, then pressed the mixture onto seasoned cod filets, then baked at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Oh, and instead of the buttery round crackers, I used panko bread crumbs, and boy was this delicious! I served this with brown rice and steamed broccoli. This is going to be a regular in this house.

Country Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
I've never had a breakfast casserole before! Boy have I been missing out. This was everything we wanted for breakfast in one dish. It is also very filling. A little piece goes a long way. I will be making this at least 2-3 times a month; we don't eat breakfast too often. This was also easy to put together.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
WOW...All I can say is...WOW!!! We had this for dinner last night, and this was too easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly except I put my chicken breast in frozen solid and I added salt, pepper, garlic and red pepper flakes. I quartered my biscuits with kitchen shears and added them about an hour before we were eating.Total cooking time was exactly 6 hours on high. I think starting out with the chicken frozen kept it very moist. This meal tasted like I was in the kitchen all day over the stove. I will be making this on a regular basis!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
Does this really need another five star rating? Yes! This is the recipe for me from now on. I followed the recipe exactly except I refrigerated the dough about an hour before using. While I was baking batches, I put the dough back in the refrigerator. These really are the best and easiest chocolate chip cookies!

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2014
I can't believe I'm just getting around to rating this. I find that the sauce amounts can be halved. The full amount of the sauce ingredients have the dumplings swimming. But this is very delicious.
