Roasted Potatoes with Greens

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2012
Easy and delicious. It needs a little spicing up, but that's easy to do to your preferences.

This recipe is amazing! I used old– fashioned mustard and it came out perfectly. This is my new favorite recipe.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
Awesome recipe, but I cut down on the sugar big time. Only 1/4 of brown, not white sugar in the potato mixture and 2/3 cup brown sugar for the topping.

I love these. They are spicy and super easy. As a bonus, they actually get my husband to eat vegetables. Definitely a keeper.

The only problem with these is that I eat them almost as fast as I cook them.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
A solid, easy pot roast. I always add in my potatoes about two hours before it's time to eat and never had any problems with them going mushy.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
This is a great recipe. I didn't have any shrimp, but it was still fantastic. I used chicken thighs instead of breast and it worked out delicious! My husband unexpectedly invited a couple of his friends over around dinner time. This recipe and about four cups of white rice fed the three men and myself and we still had leftovers the next day.

I do this with frozen okra that I rinse off and dry it off with paper towels before following the directions. No slime and perfect.

This is pretty good on it's own, but it's all about figuring out what you like and spicing it up.

This is so easy. All I do to dress it up is add an extra teaspoon of cumin and a teaspoon of garlic. It's perfect.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
These only get four stars because I tweaked them so much to my personal taste that they hardly resemble the original recipe. However, this is a great base to work off of and without it, I'd still be buying the store-bought stuff. I go with 3 cups rolled outs, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, 1 cup sliced almonds, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 cup dried fruit (I like the Trader Joe's mix of raisins, blueberries and golden raisins), 1/2 tsp salt, NO honey, 1 beaten egg, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and two large mashed bananas. The bananas add a little sweetness and cut out the oil. The result is a chewy granola bar with less fat and more healthy stuff. Thanks Pregocook for giving us a fantastic base!

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

I don't think I've ever made something so easy that tasted so good. I sliced my potatoes just a little thicker than potato chips and they got wonderfully crispy.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I made this exactly as written and found it a little bland. Both my husband and I thought it was good, but we definitely had to salt our servings. Next time I'm going to salt and pepper by roast beforehand to kick up the flavor.

I love this recipe, but my family still likes the canned stuff better. So much for making Thanksgiving a little classier. Lol

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
Between this and the highest rated turkey brine on this site, I've officially become the Thanksgiving Poo-bah of my family. Fresh herbs are better, but in a pinch, I put all the dried herbs in a small glass and pour in just enough turkey or chicken stock to cover them. I let them soak while I'm preparing the rest of the ingredients and then dump them in with the little bit of stock when the recipe calls for them. I haven't got a complaint yet.

Great recipe. The cayenne pepper adds a great kick. I like to toss in a few dried cranberries, walnuts and a sprinkle of fresh parsley to make it feel extra classy.

Don't mess with the chemistry of this recipe by doing anything more than maybe adding nuts or white chocolate or butterscotch chips. They come out amazing.
