Pineapple Upside-Down Cake V

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
This was a great recipe! I tried it with both the yellow cake and the butter cake (as suggested by some other reviewers) and myself and my wife both thought the yellow cake turned out much better. It was lighter and the taste of butter (in the butter cake it's in the cake and topping) was a bit overwhelming. The butter cake also was much more dense and had a tendency to crumble like cornbread. I did add coconut and coconut extract and did like a couple other peeps said - adding crushed pineapple between a bit of cake with the remaining cake on top of it. It made for a very moist, pineapple/tropical tasting cake. I also used just one layer in a 9x13 glass dish. AWESOME!! Brought it to the 4th of july party as it's my mom's favorite type of cake and she said it was the best she had ever had :)

Very good basic chili...doesn't taste like a basic chili though, which is why it got 5 stars

Red and Sweet Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
I served this for the first time at my son's birthday party. Family and friends were there, even a couple traditional potato salad haters. Even they loved this one. It was great as is. I will sometimes tweak recipes on here...a little more garlic here, a little less salt there, but this one is great without a change. Thanks for our new family favorite potato salad!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 14, 2011
This was just plain ol' awesome. Simple yet super tasty. Next time I will try 3/4 cup milk during the final process so that when the remainder is refrigerated it stays creamy. Thanks for this awesome homemade recipe!

Not Your Every Day Smoked Pork Spare Ribs

Reviewed: May 28, 2011
This was great. My family are all BBQ lovers and this was as good as any restaraunt if not better than most. I did a mix of baby back and beef ribs with the same rub...equally great results. I cooked the ribs for quite a bit longer though (maybe 6-7 hours total at a temp of 215-225 in my electric smoker). I used a mix of hickory and apple chips, alternating between the two. I also used a different mop sauce This is going in my recipe book as my go to rib recipe...just perfect ribs! Thank you so much!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
Excellent! 1 hour at 300 for 4 loaves just does not cut it. I used original recipe, added nutmeg to dry ingredient and to topping I made (1c brown sugar, 1c flour, 6 tbs melted butter, 2 tsp cinnamon & 1/2c chopped walnuts - sprinkled evenly over top of loaves) and bakes for 1hr 20 mins at 325. Came out amazing! People at my work and my wife said it was the best bread of any kind they have ever had. Topping also help keep the tops of bread from burning or getting too dark. Enjoy!

Turkey Meatloaf Burgers

Flavor was good, but have tried a couple times and no matter how much I brown the patties the burger still turns out a bit mushy. Not a fan of the texture.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
I have made these maybe 5 times now, varying the recipe a little by maybe adding more cheese or more sauce or even more green chilies and, no matter what I do to this recipes, it turns out amazing. I will never use another enchilada recipe. These are absolutely perfect. Even my mom who is an enchilada perfectionist said that these are the best she has ever had. These are even great 2 and 3 days later as leftovers!

Have made maybe 20 times. I am asked to make these regularly as they are perfect scones. Save yourself some time and mix butter with dry ingredients in food processor. I use the orange/cranberry scone recipe.
