About this Cook
Attorney by day, Martha by night...
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook something for the first time. By figuring out how something is made, I have a greater appreciation for what I'm eating.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fish! I'm scandinavian and my husband is jewish, so fish is an important component of both of our backgrounds (my fish just has more subtle flavors :b).
My cooking triumphs
Actually, my biggest triumph as of late was winning a grill in a contest drawing. I never owned my own grill and my husband and I were going to buy a much cheaper one, but then we won one! When does that ever happen?!
My cooking tragedies
When my husband and I were dating, we tried to make pumpkin pie. Not only did we use the wrong kind of pumpkin, we used the stringy parts of the pumpkin AND THEN failed to pre-bake the innards. It was so gross and tragic.

Mom's Pumpkin Pie
Just incredible. I like to add a little apple pie spice on top.

Butter Flaky Pie Crust
Very good; I made the mistake of working the butter too much, but know better now.
