About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
seafood, steamed vegetables, tomato sauces, stews
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have one Sicilian grandma from Brooklyn, & 1 Scot/Seminole grandma from the Pensacola, Florida bayou. I love recreating the foods they cooked for me when I was a child, like gumbo, chicken & dumplings, banana pudding, or chicken cacciatore, lasagna, cannoli, etc. I was one lucky kid!!!
My cooking triumphs
my dad told me I cook just like his mother :) & my mom's mother said "jeez, you sure are a good cook!" while eating a homemade pasta dish from me :)
My cooking tragedies
I once forgot to trim the fat off of my oxtails before browning them & putting them in their stew!

Baked Ziti II
I referred to this recipe for ingredient amounts (instead of pestering my grandma) when I decided to remind myself of home w/ a classic. I used my own homemade marinara, hand-shredded fresh mozzarella, & it was THE BOMB! Flavor explosions on my tastebuds! & that was just the 1st nite... the leftovers were no joke!
