Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2004
I loved these! I didn't cook the noodles first, which made them much easier to stuff. I jused leftover spaghetti sauce, added just a little water to the sauce and a little to the bottom of the glass dish. Everything turned out great and it was so simple!

Quick Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Love this bread! I made one loaf and some muffins to send with my son to college. I have to say, I think the muffins cooked up better. Bread had to cook longer than directions indicated for the center to get done. Which made the crust a little darker than I prefer. But I could have had too much batter in the pan for one loaf.

Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
Loved it! Toward the end I added 1/2 cup of barley to thicken it up some -- WOW! Next time I will leave the potatoes out and just do barley, not that the potatoes were bad, just really liked the barley.

Brandied Orange and Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2004
If I could give this six stars I would! It was soo good and made the best leftover turkey sandwhiches ever! I remembered to cut down on the orange zest after I was already boiling all of it! So my liquid was full force buy I pulled out the solid zest and added that to the Cranberry Orange Loaf recipe I made which people had suggested more zest for. Both turned out great and created a nice balance for no waste! I alsu used some of the left over cranberry sauce (I made a double batch) for the Cranberry Pork Roast in a crockpot. Wow!

Monster Cookies VI

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Ok, I have made these twice. First time as is but with butterscotch chips instead of MMs (I am not a fan of MMs baked in cookies). Great cookies and that is what I gave my 5 stars on. My second time I only had 1 cup of rolled oats so i used quick oats for the rest -- cookies did not turn out as chewy. I also used some cinnamon chips as I only had a few butterscotch left. I like the butterscotch and chocolate better (first batch). I also used a large cookie scoop instead of an ice cream scoop the second time and dropped my time down to 11 minutes. Honestly, the smaller scoop could account for them not being as chewy, but I think it is the quick oats. I strongly suggest either using the ice cream scoop or lowering the time for smaller scoop. So, recipe is a winner as is, even little mods will alter this recipe!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
OMG, this even worked for me! I usually mix the dough in my machine and then bake it in the over because I never do it right. But this worked like a charm -- Thank you! I used my KitchenAid with hook to knead -- about 3 minutes on 1-2.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Very good! I lighted up by replacing half the oil with unsweetened apple sauce and using egg beaters. It was even better the next day -- and the next.

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2004
Loved this! Great recipe to combine with the Brandied Cranberry Sauce as it also uses orange zest and the recommendation was to cut down on the zest. I added some of the zest from that to this and it was wonderful!

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2004
These are soooo good! And easy to make. I use a 1/4 round teaspon to indent the cookie for the cherry, perfect size and helps cuts the prep time.

Spaghetti with White Clam Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2004
WOW! This was wonderful! We had not leftovers, we ate it all! I used chopped clams and whole baby clams just to make it hearty. Also, after I cooked the 1lb of noodes (we used angle hair) it was too much noodles to sauce (especially for our family of four), so I put half the noodle on a serving dish and poured the clam sauce on top. I served it with ceasar salad and the presentation was beautlful. Everyone had seconds.

Red Wine Flavored Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2004
This was very, very good! And a great way to use up the box of red wine in the fridge left over from a party. I only added a 1/2 cup of water and then was afraid there would not be enough flavor and added two beef bullion cubes (it was early in the morning and I was only running on a half cup of coffee). I worried all day that it would be to salty. However, it worked out great! I didn't have time to make a gravy so we used the sauce a more of an au juice and laddled it over the meat, YUMMY! It would have been to salty for gravy though, one bullion would have been perfect. I didn't have the heart to throw out the juice so I froze it to use in soup later in the week. Great recipe!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2001
Adding the cranberries is wonderful! The first time I made it I only made a small batch and then a larger traditional batch. Everyone loved the cranberry one and I had only the traditional batch leftover, whcih was a disappointment on leftover night!

Mary Wynne's Crabapple Jelly

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2012
Fabulous! Everyone I give it to raves about it! I never get more than a few little jars at a time, but it is so worth it. I have started adding about 2/3 of the sugar to make it more tart, but it is wonderful the way it is.

This was FANTASTIC! I usually made the sour cream Banana Bread recipe, but found myself with loads of ripe bananas and no sour cream! This is now my favorite banana bread recipe! Very dense and moist, loads of banana flavor.
