Cod with Italian Crumb Topping

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
THe best cod I've ever eaten. The only reason why I'm giving it a four star is because I took the suggestion of lemon and mayo instead of egg whites and I think it made a big difference in taste. I sauteed 3 cloves of garlic in oil then added it to a little mayo and lemon juice until it was thin. I then brushed that on the fish instead of the egg whites. It was awesome and super flavorful.

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
Omgosh this is delicious. I used whole peeled tomatoes instead of diced because that's what I had on hand. I used 93 % ground beef and it was still so moist. I also added a bit of parmesan cheese. I had to cook it a bit longer too. It was the best meatloaf I've had in a while. My extremely picky daughter even ate it all up. Thanks so much for the great recipe.

Maple Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2001
This apple crisp is sooo delicious. The amount of butter seemed to be a little too much so i lessened the amount to 1/4 of a cup instead of a whole cup. I melted it and then added the butter to the mixture and it came out nice and crunchy when done. I love this recipe. Thanks so much!

Classic Creamy Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
My husband thought that this was the best cole slaw he had ever tasted. I added half of a small vidalia onion, and omitted the celery seed. It was very delicious and will be made again. Thanks.

Seared Scallops with Tropical Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2005
Absolutely delicious. We served this with rice. I added mandarin oranges, lemon juice, canned pineapple and a bit of the juice from the pineapples to make the salsa. I also used a green pepper and thinly sliced green onions in the salsa. Thanks for the recipe.

Gourmet Caramel Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
These are awesome and satisfied my craving for caramel-chocolate apples. They look so professional. I dipped mine in caramel, then some in crushed butterfingers and some in chopped snickers. I let them set up in the fridge and then dipped them in chocolate. Yum. I, like others, used chocolate chips instead of baker's chocolate. Thanks so much for the recipe.

Totally Tangy Baked French Fries

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
These were wicked spicy. I would probably make these again with a little less cayene. They also need to be cooked way long or at a higher temp.

Traditional French Canadian Tourtiere

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This is awesome. My first time making it and it tasted just like what I'm used to. The only changes I made were to scale the recipe to 2 pies, add 2 potatoes, boiled then mashed, and I made my own concentrated chicken liquid. I will be making this again soon.

Christmas Morning Frittata

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
Terrific frittata. I didn't have any peppers so I just used sweet vidalia onions, garlic and tomatoes. I also added a little feta and used a sharp cheese mix. I definitely suggest spraying the pie plate with non stick spray. Thanks for the great recipe.

Mom's Sushi Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Delicious! I didn't have the kelp so I omitted it. I served it warm as a side dish with sesame seared tuna. This will definitely be my new side dish for asian meals.

Ornament Dough

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
It was so fun making these with the kids. I did have to add a little more water to the dough. It may have been because I halved the recipe, not sure though. We made way more ornaments then the recipe stated so be sure to adjust cooking time because ours burnt a bit.

The best cheeseball ever! THe only change I made was to omit celery because we don't like it and I used bacon instead of ham. So delicious!

Gyroll

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
Yumm-ee. I kind of made this my own recipe because of my pickiness. I used all ground sirloin, no zucchini or olives, and added extra feta. I also had some egg whites in the fridge that I brushed on the gyrolls to help the garlic powder really stick. I also used the cucumber sauce from Sean's falafel salad with the gyrolls. This is a definite keeper.

Sour Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
This is extremely tasty. A good alternative to cream cheese frosting. Like others said this is more of a glaze that's why I gave it a 4. It's very thin but delicious.

Danish Pastry Apple Bars II

These are awesome. The only thing I changed was to sub vanilla extract with almond and I only used 6 large apples. They are so pretty too.

Tar Heel Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
Wow is this awesome. So sinfully rich and gooey. If you're a brownie lover this is definitely for you. I followed the recipe almost exactly except I only added 1/2 cup of nuts because I'm not a huge nut fan. This is great with cool whip or vanilla ice cream. I bet this is good even without the crust. I will be making this again very, very soon.
