Spinach and Leek White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
A simple but belly warming soup. It did need a few changes to suit our tastes. I had to double the amount of liquid in it in order for it to be a soup. I also used frozen spinach because I didn't have fresh, unfortunately. I also used 5 gloves of garlic as recommended by other reviewers. We like things spicy so I added a little cayene pepper too. I will definitely make this again as my husband loves it. Thanks

Naan

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
Really delicious! The consistency was perfect, light and fluffy and bubbly. It did take a little longer than stated to rise, about 1.5 hours. I also added the garlic powder as recommended from other reviews. I don't have a grill so I cooked it in a pan greased very sparingly. It came out perfectly. Thanks for the recipe.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
These are sinfully delicious. I almost wish I hadn't made them because I've eaten almost all of them! My husband said they are the best cookies he's ever eaten. I used peanut butter and chocolate chips and halved the recipe with no problem. These will definitely be on our Christmas cookie list.

Thai Green Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
Sensational! I loved how the chicken was coated before cooking it. I'll be doing that to the chicken in my other curries now too. My husband loved it just as much as I did. I used 1 can of lowfat coconut milk and it worked perfectly. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I'll be making this again very soon. Thanks.

Almond-Topped Fish

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
This fish was really good. I added 2 cloves of garlic to the mayo mixture and to make things a little easier I put all the topping ingredients in the food processor. I will be making this again soon.

Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
This was just ok for me. My hubby liked it a lot though. I thought it tasted like it was made with velveeta and I really don't care too much for that taste.

RamJam Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
I skewered the marinated chicken with onions and broiled them because I don't have a grill. The ginger was a bit overpowering to me but the marinade kept the chicken moist. Next time I think I'll use less ginger and I'll like them much better.

Party Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
The marinade for these chicken wings is to die for. I think you definitely need to cook these on a cookie sheet after cooking them in the marinade like other posters have said. I didn't and I felt like they were a little rubbery not crispy like I like them. I will definitely make them again.

Three-Meat Stromboli

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
Great, tasty recipe. I was given the advice to prepare the stromboli the night before, but I would not recommend it. The dough didn't cook properly but people still chowed it anyhow. It may be because I used fresh dough. I can definitely see myself making this again using differnt meat/veggie combinations.

Mom's Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
These were very delicious. I made it for my daughter's Baptism and people kept commenting on how great they were. I didn't add the ham just added extra bacon because I'm not a big ham fan. The only thing I would change would be to drain off some of the liquid from the beans. I found them a little "watery". I put them in the crockpot after they were fully cooked and it worked out awesome. Other than that I would follow the recipe to the T. Thanks for the recipe.

Squash Braid

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
This bread was just ok for me. It smelled awesome baking but had little flavor. I even put cinnamon in it thinking that it would make it tastier. I think it may be better with a cinnamon sugar infused butter. I guess I was just expecting something sweeter.

Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
This was a good base manicotti recipe. I did think it needed a bit more flavor so I added some garlic and spinach. It was very tasty and I'll be making it again soon.

Shrimp with Red Curry and Basil

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
This was good but it was a little tangy from the sour cream and lime juice. It needs something to balance it out. Maybe some brown sugar or coconut milk. I added some thai chili paste. I think it would be great with chicken too.

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
This was super easy and super tasty. The only thing I changed was I didn't have scallops so I omitted them and added extra shrimp. I also added a few more cloves of garlic. I will be making this again soon. Thanks

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
These are delicious. My only complaint is that they have a bit of a salty/bitter aftertaste. Maybe I'll added a little more sugar next time. They are much better than the butter variety of homemade brownies.

Tropical Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2007
This was really good. I used super thin pork and cut them into strips. I also added some peppers and forgot the pineapples. I served it with rice.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2007
This cake was good. On it's own it was not as moist as I would have liked. With frosting it was great. We used chocolate butter cream and dark chocolate frosting.

Pumpkin Pie Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2007
These bars are super tasty. I didn't add nuts because I don't like them much. I also added vanilla to the pumpkin mixture. My advice would be not to refridgerate them because the crust gets extremely hard and it makes it difficult to get out of the pan. Once out of the fridge, though, they're fine. Thanks for the recipe.
