Honey Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
This tenderloin was delicious. I didn't folow directions and marinated the meat all day instead of just basting it. I'm glad I did because it came out super moist and yummy. The only thing I changed was adding a little corn syrup to the honey because I didn't have enough. Other than that I followed the recipe ingredients exactly.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
These are the best chocolate chip cookies I've have made from this site or have ever tasted for that matter. The size of the cookie really matters here. The outcome is an extremely chewy middle with deliciously crisp edges and bottom and they are absolutely oozing with chocolate chips. My first batch didn't really spread as much as I thought it would so for the second batch I rolled each 1/4c of dough and pressed it down a bit. These came out a little crisper, but still deliciously chewy. I will be cleaning out my recipe box of all other chocolate chip cookies. Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe.

Coquito

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
This was way too sweet for me but my hubby loved it. I also had a problem with the mixture getting too thick to pour. After I got it out I reblended it and it was fine. I think it's best in small doses.

Tar Heel Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
Wow is this awesome. So sinfully rich and gooey. If you're a brownie lover this is definitely for you. I followed the recipe almost exactly except I only added 1/2 cup of nuts because I'm not a huge nut fan. This is great with cool whip or vanilla ice cream. I bet this is good even without the crust. I will be making this again very, very soon.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
This is a really delicious soup. I'm trying to stay a little on the health conscience side so I changed a few things. I added an onion finely chopped, two carrots diced, and some poultry seasoning. I also didn't have any chicken broth so I used chicken boullion with water. I also used two cups of whole milk with a little cornstarch in place of the cream, 3 tablespoons of butter instead of a whole stick and just added enough flour to make the roux. I didnt have the rice with the flavor packet so I used an Uncle Ben's wild and brown 90 second packet instead. This soup is great for a cold night and is definitely a keeper.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
Really good. Not too sweet. I didn't change a thing. I used the flaky pie crust from this site and served it up at Thanksgiving.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
Not as sweet as I would have liked it but everyone else loved it. I added 6 tbs of corn starch as recommended by another reviewer but I think 5 would've been enough. I also had to use frozen blueberries because the fresh ones didn't look too good. I will definitely make this again with revisions.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This pie crust was a little difficult for me to work with. I needed to add a lot more water to get it to come together. It had a great taste though. Like others I added a little sugar to the crust for a little more sweetness for my fruit pies.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This was pretty good. I think next time I'll use a mix of Macintosh and Granny Smith because it was a little too tart for my taste. I think next time I will also put the apples in the sugar mixture for a more even distribution.

Peanut Butter Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
This is delicious. The filling is so smooth, rich and peanut buttery. I had to use half regular peanut butter and half unsweetened and it came out perfectly. I froze it for a little while too so it would be a little more set and topped it with whipped cream. Thanks for the recipe.

Three-Cheese Spaghetti Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
Tasty, simple recipe. Great because it's quick and ingredients are usually on hand. I added a little italian seasoning and just parmesan cheese because I didn't have romano. I can definitely see myself making this again with other additions such as spinach or broccoli.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
I made this for my daughter's baptism and it was gone in no time. It's so rich and delicious. I've made it with shredded and sliced mozzarella and both times it came out awesome. The only thing I changed was to omit the fennel.

Ornament Dough

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
It was so fun making these with the kids. I did have to add a little more water to the dough. It may have been because I halved the recipe, not sure though. We made way more ornaments then the recipe stated so be sure to adjust cooking time because ours burnt a bit.

Cheesecake Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
Really yummy and simple recipe. I used low fat brownie mix and 1/3 fat cream cheese. I also added green and red food coloring to the cream cheese and swirled it. It was a great idea from another reviewer. Thanks.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2007
This was an awesome base recipe. I completely peeled the shrimp, used half the butter, added 5 cloves of garlic, a couple of splashes of white wine, and jalepeno mustard. I served it over a 1/2 pound of fettuccini and sprinkled it with parmesan cheese. It was terrific.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
This bread was very tasty. I made it in two 9x5 bread pans because I don't have the 7x5 ones. I used cinnamon applesauce in place of the oil and used 1 1/2 c of white sugar and 1/2 c of brown sugar. I also drizzled the bread with a sugar/cinnamon and butter reduction. Update: Made this again with applesauce and sifted 1.5 cups of whole wheat flour with 2 cups of white flour. I also added about .25 cups of flax seed. It was out of this world! I will be making it like this from now on.

Apple Dumpling Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
Not bad but not excellent. I, like others, used half the oil and half applesauce. Definitely more like cake topped apples than apple dumplings.

Chicken Satay

This was awesome. I don't have a grill so I broiled them. I basted them with the marinade while it was cooking. I will definitely make these again soon.

Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
This was ok. I'm giving it 4 stars because my husband loved it. I felt it needed something more. Maybe next time I'll top it with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and maybe some avocado.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
This is the absolute best bread ever. I did add a few things to my taste. I firstly made it by hand using the reviewers recommendations on the recipe page. The only thing that I changed was adding the whole cup of milk because without it, it was not the right consistency. I also brushed the bread with olive oil and sprinkled with parm cheese. Instead of making it into a loaf I braided it. It was so tasty accompanied with the spinach and bean soup on this site. I will be making this again very soon. Thanks.
