Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
WOW! This is THE best. My mom has been making carrot cake similar to this for years and it just brought back so many awesome memories of eating it at Christmas time. The only changes I made were to use pecans instead of walnuts and I omitted the raisins.

This was absolutely amazing. I didn't change a thing. I served it with broccoli and rice and my husband thought it was as good as any chinese restaurant around.

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I usually make an artichoke dip for parties and I loved that this one called for jalapenos. It was delicious and a nice twist on a classic recipe.

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2010
This frosting was good but had a strong shortening taste. After adding a bit of butter it was delicious.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
These are really awesome and so simple. I don't have a bread machine so I made them in the kitchen aid stand mixer. The only things I changed was to add a little garlic powder and lessened the sugar by a tablespoon or so. I also made this as actual rolls not cresents. These would definitely make great slider rolls or if made larger sandwich rolls. Thanks for sharing.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
These are awesome. I loved watching everyone's face as they bit into one and got a delicious treat. They're a little time consuming due to the freezing of the dough but they are totally worth it if you have the time.

My kids loved these. I didn't change a thing besides halving the recipe and using sour cream instead of yogurt.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
The best roast chicken you will ever eat. This was so easy and so simple. It was a meal that everyone in the house ate and that is a tough feat in my house of picky eaters. The only thing I did differently was to add a little crushed garlic under the skin of the chicken. Delicious. I can't wait to make it again.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
This is one of those soups that you can totally change to your family's taste without sacrificing the awesomeness of the soup. My family doesn't like celery or green beans so we omitted them, added fresh tomatoes, 2 boxes of stock one chicken, one beef (accidentally thought it was chicken), 15 oz can of tomato sauce, 2 yellow squash, 4 huge cloves of garlic, dried oregano and basil, ditalini pasta, 1/2lb of ground beef and a whole can of kidney beans. I love spinach in soup but the kids won't eat anything leafy green in their soup so I left it out. I will definitely be making this again really soon.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
Awesome and super quick, which is always good when you're a busy mom. I added broccoli and carrots and put it over rice. I used yellow onion instead of green onions because that's what I had on hand. Thanks so much for this recipe.

Peanut Butter Pie X

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
Great peanut buttery taste. I didn't have 12 oz of cream cheese so I scaled the recipe down to 11 servings for the filling and kept the crumb portion at 16 servings. I used a 12oz container of cool whip instead of whipping cream and cut the sugar in half. I topped it with melted peanut butter as well. I know my in laws are going to love this.

Sweet Russian Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
This soup was awesome. I changed a few things due to what I had on hand. I used 1 packet of onion soup mix instead of beef broth, 1/2 of prepared, jarred pasta sauce instead of tomato sauce, added a little bit of garlic powder and canned chopped beets and used less sugar than the recipe called for. This made way more than 4 servings too. Wicked good.

Coconut Chocolate Cake

I was hoping to really love this but we didn't. It was kind of bland and boring. We even took other recipe reviewers advice and added more coconut and condensed milk.
