Absolutely Best Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
These are the best brownies made from scratch. They are moist, chocolaty, and delicious. I will be cleaning my box of all other brownie recipes and will be replacing it with this one. I changed only the flour, using all purpose. Be sure to cool these completely or they'll seem undercooked. I ate these warmed with pistahio ice cream. Yummy.

Savory Party Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
This bread was super good. I made it for a get together and everyone kept on commenting how yummy it was. Here are the changes I made: 1/4 c butter, 8 oz block of monterrey jack cheese cut into little squares to fit the slits and 1 clove of garlic minced. I will definitely be making this again soon.

Sour Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
This is extremely tasty. A good alternative to cream cheese frosting. Like others said this is more of a glaze that's why I gave it a 4. It's very thin but delicious.

Panzanella Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2007
Wow this was great. I made it for a BBQ and it was the first thing to go. Everyone kept picking at it even when we were done eating. I used a long french stick bread that wasn't a day old, but worked fine. Toasted it in the oven for 13 minutes. I made it early in the day and didn't want it to get too soggy so I put all the other ingredients in a bowl, without the balsamic mix, and put the cooled bread on top. About 45 minutes before serving that's when I added the balsamic, tossed it, and let it sit. It came out perfect. This is definitely a staple for BBQs now. Thanks!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2007
I was craving something pumpkin and this did the trick. It was an awesome combination of pumpkin and cheesecake. I used one reduced fat and one regular fat cream cheese without a problem. I also used a low fat crust. I would recommend refridgerating it overnight though. Thanks for the recipe.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
Ok this coffee cake is truly to die for. It is so addicting again I am embarrassed to say how much I've already eaten. I used a bundt pan but beware...really butter your pan. I also doubled the cinnamon mixture and layered it twice. Other than that I followed the recipe to a tee. Definitely not for dieters!!!

Sweet Corn Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
This was so yummy. Tasted like corn cakes from a restaurant. Like others, I only used 1/4 c of butter, 1/4 c sugar and 3 tbls of whole milk instead of cream. I also cooked it at a higher temp (400) halfway through because I needed to cook some chicken. I topped it with a little sour cream. It was gone in no time. I will definitely be making this again very soon.

Classic Creamy Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
My husband thought that this was the best cole slaw he had ever tasted. I added half of a small vidalia onion, and omitted the celery seed. It was very delicious and will be made again. Thanks.

Fruit Pizza I

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
This was super yummy. A nice refreshing dessert for summer. I made the crust in a square brownie pan because I didn't have a pizza pan. I used all the sugar as stated in the recipe and found the cream cheese mixture to have just the right sweetness. I beat it on high speed for a while and didn't have any problem with a granulated texture. I topped the crust with strawberry sundae topping before baking. I used raspberries, bananas, blueberries and strawberries. 5 people ate 12 large slices. That's how delicious it was. I will defnitely make this again and again.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2007
We made this without frying the chicken for a lighter meal. We just seasoned the chicken with salt and pepper first. We served it with jasmine rice and it was really good. I will definitely make this again.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2007
Very yummy, rich and sweet. I suggest cooking it a little longer than stated if you don't want it too doughy. We used a pizza cutter for the dough and omitted the raisins and nuts.

Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2007
This was a good starter recipe. I was worried that it wouldn't be flavorful enough so I added sauteed garlic, mushrooms and onions to the mixture. I also used regular fresh pizza dough. I brushed the calzones with egg and garlic powder for extra flavor. I will make these again.

Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2007
If you like brownies, you'll love these cookies. Wow they were awesome. I halved the recipe with no problem. I didn't have dutch process cocoa so I used regular Hershey's cocoa. I also didn't have the granules so I omitted them. I only had 6 oz of bittersweet chocolate so I added 2 oz of white that I had on hand. These are definitely a keeper. Everyone in the family loved them.

Better than store bought. I will make this again instead of buying it when I make enchiladas.

Spicy Indian Chicken and Mango Curry

Reviewed: May 21, 2007
I'm so sorry to give this a bad review. I felt like it was missing something. I tried adding some curry powder but it was just too bland.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: May 18, 2007
These were pretty good. I thought they were a little too sweet but my hubby said they were the best that he's ever had. I think with a different frosting, like a cream cheese one, it would be a little less sweet.

Deelish. I added a little hot chili paste and brown sugar. I used green, red and yellow peppers, mushrooms, asparagus, and vidalia onions. I let them marinate in the fridge for about 5 hours. Yum!!!! I can't wait to have these again.

Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
These are super delicious and gooey. I'm embarassed about how much I've already eaten! I didn't have a whole cup of choc. chips so I added some toffee chips to the recipe. It's worth every calorie. Pour yourself a big glass of milk to go along with it!
