Perfect Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2014
Made this exactly as stated (except I only had regular paprika, not smoked) and it was perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. I like barbeque sauce on my pulled pork but the rest of the family does not. So I made this, and everyone else ate it as-is, and I added some sauce. Delicious and easy!

Crispy Baked Cereal Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
This recipe had the potential to be really good, but had one major flaw. I made exactly as stated, and the cereal was crispy, and the bread was juicy. But there was WAY TOO MUCH garlic flavor from the garlic salt. My husband and I like garlic but it was too much. My daughter wouldn't touch it. Despite the 2-star rating, I think this may have been pretty decent if you leave the garlic salt out altogether. I may make it again with that change.

Chicken Tortilla Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
I made this (almost) exactly as stated and it turned out really delicious. The only thing I changed was to replace half of the mozzarella with cheddar since I only had 8 oz of mozzarella. My only complaint is that some of the ratios seemed off. Next time, I will use more chicken, less sauce, and less cheese. But the taste was fantastic. I highly recommend using the corn tortillas because they had a great flavor and texture after cooking for an hour.

Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
I love this recipe, and have made it many times. It IS a little bit difficult and dirty-dish-intensive, but it's worth it. It's so nice to have a casserole that uses fresh ingredients rather than gross condensed soup!

Chicken Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
This is one of my favorite recipes I've made this year. I kept all the spices and ratios the same, but I made a couple changes to make this easier and faster. I used chicken breast since that was all I had, and simmered it until cooked in chicken broth. I then shredded the chicken, added the spices and veggies (minus the potatoes because as others have said it doesn't need more carbs), then simmered for another 20 minutes. Then I added and cooked the dumplings. This was SO GOOD and SO EASY. And the leftovers are absolutely fantastic! Note, it was looking a little bit thin and soupy, but the addition of the dumplings thickens up the sauce very nicely.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
I have made this 3+ times now and it is absolutely fantastic. And SO EASY. The first time I made it I misread the recipe and only used one package of crescent rolls (and the full amount of "stuffing" ingredients). Somehow, amazingly, it all fit so I've made it with only one package of crescent rolls since. You just have to stretch the dough out a bit more.

Rosemary Chicken Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
This was very good! I left out olived (don't like them) and parsley (didn't have any), but it still tasted great.

Chicken Bulgur Skillet

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
This was really great. Based on other reviews I doubled the spices (cinnamon and cumin), and added more chicken broth during cooking. Without those changes it may not have been as good. It was fantastic - I especially loved the crunch from the walnuts.

Brown Rice and Black Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
Made as directed and this was bland. Really, really, really bland. Adding more pepper gave it a bit of a kick, but it lacked any depth of flavor. It seems like a nice healthy starting recipe, though. I just need to figure out a way to spice it up and add some complexity before I would consider making again.

Quinoa Tabbouleh

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
I didn't care for this - I think it is very overrated. I prepared as instructed and it came out VERY bland. Ended up adding balsamic vinegar, feta cheese, and some more salt just to get it to a point where I wouldn't throw it away.

Mexican Lasagna II

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
This is very easy to make, and delicious. I've made it several times, and it's great exactly as is, or with custom modifications to spice it up. Also excellet with corn and/or black beans added. Overall, a very versatile dish!

Beef Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
I made this exactly as directed and my husband and I thought it was VERY bland. Not terrible, but needed to add a lot to it to give it even a little bit of flavor.

Shrimp Bisque

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
The taste of this soup was just "ok", but I couldn't get past the texture, which as another reviewer pointed out, was awful. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because at least it was low fat (and only 3 weight watchers points).

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

This is a great, simple recipe. My niece declared it the "best dinner ever". I added peas because it's the most kid-friendly vegetable I could think of.

Good starter recipe, but definitly felt like it was lacking in flavor. It needed something to kick it up a notch.

Chicken Paprikash

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
This is just ok in my opinion. I would have given 3 stars, but my husband loves it so I upped it to 4. I don't care for the dumplings. They're very flavorless. I've never had dumplings before... maybe that's the way they're supposed to be?

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
This was EXCELLENT! I used Lasvegas00's review as a guideline for cooking this in the crockpot, and it came out great. I added a little extra corn, and a little extra light sour cream, and used black beans instead of chili beans, but kept everything else the same. My only beef with this recipe is that the serving information seems way off base. I made this for myself only (since no one else likes spicy food), and figured I could take it to lunch for a few days this week. So I halved the recipe, which should have been 4 servings, but I have well over 8 LARGE servings of soup. I'm not sure how I'm going to eat it all, and wish I hadn't "wasted" all the chicken. Next time I will cut it in 1/4 for 4 servings. I should have known something looked off when the original 8-serving recipe called for EIGHT chicken breast halves... that is a TON of soup! Totally delicious, though :)

This was good, and VERY simple. Made exactly as directed. Next time I may try a blueberry yogurt and/or some frozen blueberries.

Healthy Garden Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I didn't care for this as much as everyone else seemed to. The amount of dressing was too much for the salad - it just pooled in the bottom of the bowl and didn't look very appetizing. The taste was just "ok".
