Spicy Peach-Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
WOW! I wasn't sure if I would like this, but thought I would give it a try. I'm not usually big on fruits with meats, but this recipe is GREAT!!! I only had 2 pork chops so I halved the sauce and it turned out perfectly. It looks very fancy, will be great for company. Thanks for the recipe! I never would have put these ingredients together on my own.

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
The sauce was very good and easy to make! My pork chops were dry and I did not put them in the oven, just covered them with foil and put in the microwave so I am not sure what happened. I cooked for 4 minutes on each side. For some reason when I went to make the rub I didn't have sage! I used savory instead and it turned out fine. I doubled the sauce (but not the vinegar). Next time I might try a little more vinegar. It does harden up a lot when it cools which is good. I served with wild rice and green beans. I will make this again- thanks!

Wild Rice and Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
I followed the directions pretty closely. I just used 2 cups of a wild rice blend (that had brown rice in it), fresh mushrooms, and no water chesnuts. All the flavors blend well together, it fills you up, and it makes a big batch! Will be making this one again- thanks!

Ham 'N' Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
I halfed the recipe because I only had 1 crust. I sauted some shallots and mushrooms (instead of dried onions) and used ham and cheddar cheese. It turned out beautifully! The inside part is delicious, I have just realized I don't really like it with a crust. But I had never had quiche before so I didn't know. The recipe is still great though, and I will make again in a regular pan without the crust lol. Thanks!

San Antonio Taco Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
I didn't make the bowls, I just ate my salad with tortilla chips. But the ingredients are great! I used the leftovers to make burritos the next day. Thanks!

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
I wasn't sure what this would taste like, but it is now one of my favorite soups! I doubled the recipe and it was perfect for two- plenty of left overs. I cut up a whole onion (small pieces), and sauted it with carrots and mushrooms. I used 2 purple carrots which gave it a nice color and I grated them. I also grated the apple based on other recommendations because I don't think I really like cooked fruit. With it grated I couldn't tell it was apple and I really liked it! I used chicken "Better than Bouillion" for the base which worked great (8 tsp with 8 cups water), and I used a whole cup of rice. I didn't add the celery or cream, and only used one chicken breast cut in small pieces and it was fine. I served it with Naan bread with melted cheddar cheese on it. Can't wait to share this with my sister and to make it again. Thank you!!

Bananas Foster II

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
This was great! Definately too much for 2 people though. Kept the walnuts but didn't chop them up. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. I will be making this again on Sat for my sister. It looks really fancy but is super simple. Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
I followed previous suggestions and sauted onions until they were soft, then added garlic, spinach and mushrooms. I used 8oz of mushrooms and 1 bag of spinach- will double both next time. I put the uncooked chicken on top of the onion/spinach/mushroom/garlic mixture and put the soup on top. It was good but a little bland. Next time I will try with an extra tablespoon of lemon juice and some capers. I will also add some pepper for flavor. I did not add the bacon, might try that next time as well. Served with angel hair pasta and some fresh french bread. Thank you for the recipe! I will be cooking this one again.

This was pretty good, glad I was able to use up the artichoke hearts I had in the fridge. It's a nice recipe to use once in awhile. Thanks!

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
This was good but not great. It was a little too strong on the balsamic for my taste (and I like balsamic). I wish I had used some cheaper meat instead of getting the good stuff. But it was nice to try something different. Thanks!

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse

I need to work on the consistancy, but overall this was a very good recipe. It was my first time making anything like it and I think it turned out pretty good. Thanks!

Italian Bread Bowls

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but mine were really flat. I ended up using them more like a chibata bread instead. Still tasted good though. Thanks!

White Wine and Garlic Dream Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I would have given it 2 stars but I must have done something wrong, so am giving 3. It sounded like it would be very good, but mine ended up just tasting like heavy cream.

Frogmore Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
This was simple yet good. Next time I will use keilbasa instead of the sausage because it made it too spicy for our taste. Nice to have another recipe to use my Old Bay seasoning in. Thanks!

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
This took a little time to prepare, but was very good! I cooked some sliced mushrooms in the shallot pan at the end and added it to the gravy mix. I cooked chopped garlic with the shallots which was tasty. I cooked the bacon and then seared the meat in the pan before cooking. I actually forgot to put the bacon back in the mix at the end but it tasted fine without it! Thank you for the recipe.

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
These are the best cookies I have ever made! I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortning as previously suggested. I also used a little extra vanilla, 16 oz of chocolate chips, and put the dough in the fridge before cooking. I will definately make these again!!

Miso Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I would have given this more stars if it had seaweed in the recipe, and if it had more miso. We added the amount listed but it was bland. Next time we will put in more miso and it should be fine. We did add seaweed- just be sure you soak dried seaweed in water before you add it, or it will suck up all the water from your soup. Thank you for the recipe though, we will try it again.

Smoked Salmon Sushi Roll

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
It was my first time making sushi and it was actually a lot of fun. Thanks to others suggestions here I had a small bowl of water. I had to keep dipping my fingers in because the rice was so sticky. Instead of cucumbers I used cream cheese. We made miso soup from scratch to go with it. Overall it was good, just not great (in my opinion). Thank you for the recipe though, this can be used as a base roll recipe with other ingredients, and the directions were good.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
This recipe deserves all the rave reviews. I stuck very close to the recipe, just used celery salt instead of actual celery and added a little more ham and water. I cooked the butter on med, not med low so it was done quicker. It was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to make it again!! Thank you SOO much for this wonderful recipe!

Grilled Eggplant and Tomato Sandwiches with Romano-Black Pepper Mayonnaise

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
I made a LOT of changes to this recipe- I tried to make a custom version but I'm not a supporting member, so I will have to just add it here- sorry. The only thing I used from this recipe was the eggplant, olive oil, italtian bread, and fresh basil leaves. I grilled the eggplant and put the slices on the french bread that had oil brushed on them. I grilled red peppers, mushrooms, and onions and placed them on top of the eggplant with the basil leaves on top. Then I put fresh mozzarella cheese on top and cooked it in the oven until the cheese melted. You can either eat them as a sandwhich (but it's thick) or open faced. It was SOOOOO good! I would not have come up with the idea without reading this recipe which is why I am rating it here. My bf loved it, and he swore he didn't like eggplant. Thank you!
