About this Cook
College student in my senior semester in Boston. Graduating May 2010 and can't wait!
My favorite things to cook
Love to cook for my friends and family...though I have to be in the right mood! My cooking urges come in phases, but I love cooking dinners and app's!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Ever since I can remember, shortly after Thanksgiving my Mom stays up and bakes 100's of Christmas cookies to give out all during the holidays. Usually the event lasts well until dawn!
My cooking triumphs
The DELICIOUS chicken and mushroom balsamic recipe on AR.com! Been told it's restaurant quality!
My cooking tragedies
Angel food cake. One day, one day...

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
This was a HUGE hit. Perfect for those cold winter days - or when you're just feeling lazy. This is really more of a chili...especially when you omit the beer. Lots of flavor and taste! I followed the top suggestions: --Use hot chili beans --Put the chicken in raw, shred after 5-6 hours --Skip the beer --For the taco seasoning, make your own: Bill Echols Taco Seasoning: 1 tablespoon chili powder 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon black pepper

White Peach Sangria
This is a delicious, albeit somewhat “deadly” sangria. Super sweet, with a sneaker bite! Always a huge hit at parties, and the first to go! I always use a dry chardonnay (cheap is fine….don’t splurge), and something inexpensive like a Burtnett’s vodka. I’ve tried with more expensive Absolut, but you just cannot tell the difference give the price difference. I’ve made this both with sugar and have also substituted Splenda to clip some calories. I never do the grapes, as they tend to sink and don’t add much flavor. Be sure to let sit overnight to allow the recipe to set. You won’t be disappointed!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic
This is one of the first recipes I ever made from AllRecipes. And I keep coming back to it. I've been told by folks in the restaurant industry that the sauce it produces is better than restaurant quality. Follow the instructions to the T and you won't be disappointed! Use a good quality balsamic vinegar – and feel free to be generous! I always serve this over linguine with some garlic bread….amazing and never fails to please!
