My cooking triumphs
The first true meal (not cheerios, or ramen, or pizza) I ever really made well, all by my lonesome and in college - lasagne. Over the years I have tweeked it here and there and it is now a staple at my families Christmas dinner.
My cooking tragedies
I have yet had the need to order take out after a failed attempt. BUT in my defense - I will literally eat just about anything!

Spicy Black Bean Cakes
These were absolutely amazing. We like spice, but I felt 2 jalepenos were fine - and I was happy I made that choice. Didn't have a problem with the uncooked sweet potato. This got my take-out happy fiance to eat and enjoy something healthy - this will become a week night staple.

Firecracker Fried Chicken Drumsticks
these are always welcome at super bowl parties! I use Franks Red Hot wing sauce, worcestershire and cayenne and leave the skin on to soak for at least 24 hours. I add more cayenne to the batter as a lot of the sauce burns off in the oil. Make sure the oil is HOT. Awesome for chicken fingers too.

Lemon and Cilantro Shrimp
I like this recipe - it's very light and actually easy to make. 6 lemons for zesting is unnecessary! I buy 2 large ones and that works perfect for zest and juice.
