WOW! Where has this been all my life!? Of course everyone loves this, and we would call it caramel sauce rather than syrup, but whatever you call it is is fabulous! We made it last weekend out of necessity as we were out of conventional syrup. The only down side, is that it is so easy to make that you will want to make it all the time and put it on everything. As the day goes on, if you have any left, it really thickens and softens and reminds me of the caramel on an apple, or the caramel sauce that Starbucks puts on your macchiato. I just had it with some sliced apples, and I bet it is divine on ice cream. YUM!
