E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2004
Light, tender, flaky...and so QUICK to make!! These are YUMMY biscuits, and the easy preparation is great for busy mornings when I'm trying to get my family out the door!! Put an egg or slice of sausage in there, and you have a cheap, delicious biscuit that rivals any restaurant!! I made mine twice as big as the recipe calls for, and they turned out great. They do fall apart a little, so you have to handle them carefully. But, you get to skip all the kneading, cutting, and MESS!! Thanks, Angela, for this great recipe!!

Gelatin-Flavored Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2004
I used only half the butter called for in the recipe (good thing since I wound up eating almost all of it in one day)! It worked just fine, and next time I am going to try cutting back on the sugar. I made green "Shrek" popcorn, and my 6 year old loved it. We sprinkled it with green colored sugar for a little extra "sparkle." Thanks Grandma Berthie, for this fun party recipe!!

Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: May 22, 2004
These pancakes were light and tender, as described. This was a very easy recipe to put together-just a few more ingredients than my traditional white flour-based recipe. These are so much healthier and they are wonderful! Not dry or tough like some whole wheat pancake recipes. The big test was whether my six year old and two year old would eat them without complaining. They both cleaned their plates, and the six year old asked for more! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! Thank you, Jen!

Cappuccino Cake with Mocha Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2004
The cake was VERY quick to make since you only need to add cappuccino coffee powder, eggs, and oil to a white cake mix. The frosting was more complicated since you have to alternate cocoa, powdered sugar, and milk-quite messy. Also, it tasted greasy, like a Pepperidge Farm cake. I would like to find an easier and tastier frosting.
