Basic Biscuits
Just now tried these out! They were delicious! I was dubious at first b/c the dough was quite crumbly, more so than I'm use to. But as a rule I don't handle biscuit dough too much b/c it makes flat hard biscuits. I used butter flavored shortening and older baking powder (I was snowed in and used what I had). I shaped the crumbly dough into a mound and then rolled out to just a bit over 1/2 inch, and only folded the dough when I ran out of room to cut biscuits (so I wouldn't over handle the dough). They rose well and tasted great and they were awesomely flaky! Yay biscuits!
