Just talked to my Uncle in Virginia and he told me my mum is on hospice care.
When she dies me and my sister will need to sign a paper or else lawers will have to get involved.
Now getting my sis to talk to me or my Uncle. She(sister)refuses to talk to any one and refused to help with our mum when she got alzhimers so it was left to me.
All Cindy has to do is sign a paper but lets see if she bothers to step up. If she does not do this we will have to pay over $200 in refridg fees per day and hire an anerny.
Cindy, I love you and I hope you do whats right.
My sister lives in San Antonio and our mum is in San Antonio and I live in New Hampshire.

So sorry to hear about your mom. Hope your sister comes around and does the right thing..

Since your sister already thinks she is doing the right thing, get ready for a long, expensive battle!

I'm sorry to hear that your mom is in hospice care, Seamus. Hoping she is comfortable and likes her caregivers. Good luck with your sister/family issues.

So sorry to hear this, Seamus. But, your sister doesn't really need to speak with anyone, does she? All she needs to do is sign the document. Hope she steps up and does the right thing by her mother and rest of the family.

I - and the rest of your friends - are praying for the best outcome for you. So sorry you have to deal with this. I'm happy your wedding was fun and special! Sorry for the news about Carolyn. I don't know why we can't just be happy & carefree all our lives - guess that would be heaven, though! Best wishes from El Paso, Texas. (sending "thought darts" to your sister, since I'm closer than you!!)

gderr the dysfunctional My sister has never visited our mum. She refuses to talk to any one in the family. refrigd=refridiration fees to keep mums body from rotting. anemy should be aterny/lawer. We are trying to get in touch with my sister so we can get her to sign the papers when that time comes. All she has to do is sign a paper. She does NOT need to see any one. The form will be faxed to me and to her.

You might try talking with the social worker at the hospice or facility where your mother is. Explain the situation. She or he may have advice for you. I'm sorry you have to deal with this along with your mother's failing health.

Sorry to hear about your mom's failing health. It is a difficult time without family differences getting in the way. I hope it all works out for you, and your sister too. Will be praying for you all.

Sorry to hear of the problems in you family. Best I can recommend to you is go there and be there. Face to face may be better then phone, email or fax. Most airlines have a bereivement special line call and ask. I needed to use them and they go out of their way to make it happen for you, including special fares. Needed to use this when my sister died. There was even a problem with my credit card and they but me on the plane anyway (they did get paid.)

About Me
I was born in cadiz, Spain but was raised on the wonderfull island of Okinawa. We moved to United States in 1972 at age 8. I am learning to cook and care for my self at age 46. This IS a chalinge!!
My favorite things to cook
Wow, so many!! I love the foods of Okinawa and Spain the best but I do make mostly Mexican food. I do live about an hour away from Mexico afterall. The food of the South is great, mum's kin moved to VA in 1632. Chinese food is allso awasome!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hmm, maby mum making real fried chicken(I dont eat chicken any more)and making greens and corn bread. Mum was from the rural South and knew how to cook! Da was from canada but I dont think he was a cook.
My cooking triumphs
Finly baked bread that was good. NOT a brick or raw. People evan asked for the recipe!
My cooking tragedies
Are only lesons. A learning tool.
