Well, it has been nearly 2 months since I have posted a blog. Thats way to long!
So, we went, last month to ALDIs in VT and yesterday we went to the ALDIs in MASS. The MASS store is about 20 miles closer but it was not a fun trip. It was a taxing one. The store in VT was a bit smaller but it was easy to locate. Next time we will go to the one in VT. It would be nice if ALDIs would open a store here in New Kerry!
Talked to my Uncle last night. He said its been 107 F in Danville! I did not realize it got that hot there! Its only been in the 80s and 9-0s here. I do not miss Texas weather!!
We went to Toad Stool book Shop and I grabed "Wild Fermentation"(Katz). This book is looking realy good and is going to give me a lot of things to try! It will be nice not to have to buy yeast at the store. I am looking forward to the expermints!
Many of our things went missing. Many things we had stored in Texas are long gone! I thought the 2 people holding the things were my friends but they stole things. Some things, like the souveneer spoons can not be replaced!
As for the trip there and back-let me just say I hope we never have to do that agien!
We went to see my mum, and I said to her "Mom, I am your son" she looked at me and said "your beard is greay". She seemed to understand who I was. When we left she told the tech I was her husbund. But to me that means she at least understood I was family. It hurt seing her like that, but she is my mum and I want to make sure she is doing as well as posible.
We are driving on expired out of state plates. The other day one of the two town cops called me on it. No ticket, but he let me know to get it taken care of. What hapend was I was out target shooting and he said he saw the town bear come down near where he herd me shooting and thought some one was poaching. I dont hunt so no biggie. When carolyn went to get new plates they would not issue plates due to her dad's name being on the title so she has to get a copy of his death cert so we can get the car registerd next moth.
Carolyn is selling Avon, but it seems to be costing more then she is making. She has a job intervew on Monday in Keene. She has worked a grand total of 4 days since moving here. I hope she gets the job!
For a while I was taking long walks down the Rail trail but it was causing more back pain so I am going to try to do short walks and see if that is ok on my back. I need the exercize but I dont need the pain. Chronic back pain is realy bad!
We will be looking for a larger place to live as soon as we get back on our feet financily. that trip put us in the whole with the bank well over $900! Now we do not have room for everything in this flat. The kitchen is the largest single room but the counters/cabenits are only along one wall and we just do not have the room we need. hey, it's our place and we are out of the shelter so we are happy!!
Well, not much more to say so ill end this for now.
I hope every one is doing well!!

If you move to a larger apartment, do you think it will be in the same area as you are in right now, or are you considering another part of New Hampshire? How did you end up in Keene? You are near mountains, yes? Seamus, so glad you got a chance to see your Mum. Alzheimer's runs in my family, so am very familiar with its devastating effects. The patients often live in the past, and years ago, one of my Uncles with advanced Alzheimer's thought my husband was an old Army buddy (my Uncle did three active hitches in the service many years ago). My Uncle lived in a special facility that studied Alzheimer's, and he used to like us to bring him candy bars. Am not familiar with Aldi's, so will look it up and check it out! The cops in your town sound reasonable and very nice, as some large cities would have just issued a ticket... Sorry to hear you are missing some items! Maybe somebody besides your friends went through some of your boxes and did not even know about it. ---> You and Carolyn keep moving forward. It sounds like New Hampshire is "home" for you both. I always enjoy hearing how you are both doing! Have you picked any wild blueberries yet? Yum.

Hi Seamus! Tell Carolyn to stick with it- I am an Avon representative, too, and it can be hard to find new customers. Glad as well you got to see Mum. I know its hard- think to yourself deep inside, the recognition is there. Will keep following your blog!

About Me
I was born in cadiz, Spain but was raised on the wonderfull island of Okinawa. We moved to United States in 1972 at age 8. I am learning to cook and care for my self at age 46. This IS a chalinge!!
My favorite things to cook
Wow, so many!! I love the foods of Okinawa and Spain the best but I do make mostly Mexican food. I do live about an hour away from Mexico afterall. The food of the South is great, mum's kin moved to VA in 1632. Chinese food is allso awasome!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hmm, maby mum making real fried chicken(I dont eat chicken any more)and making greens and corn bread. Mum was from the rural South and knew how to cook! Da was from canada but I dont think he was a cook.
My cooking triumphs
Finly baked bread that was good. NOT a brick or raw. People evan asked for the recipe!
My cooking tragedies
Are only lesons. A learning tool.
