Jumbo Fluffy Walnut Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2013
This was fabulous! I followed the directions exactly for the muffin and made a crumble topping we like (flour, butter, oatmeal, cinnamon) and I will most definitely make these again! They were light and fluffy but still had substance and sweet but not too sweet.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
These had great texture and good flavor. I would've liked a little more peanut butter flavor so next time I might add some more peanut butter. I followed the recipe minus putting the dough in the fridge and I added chocolate chips.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
I made this according to the directions and it turned out fabulous! I did add carrots and onion for the last two hours of cooking and I pulled out some gravy and made it a little thicker with cornstarch (although it probably would've been thick enough by itself). Served it with mashed potatoes and it was a hit; a definite make again recipe!

Easy Apple Cider

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2012
This turned out great! I didn't have a cheesecloth and just put the spices in without and they were easy to avoid when filling drinks.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
This was fabulous! It was my first time ever making chicken noodle soup and I will definitely make it again with this recipe! I followed the advice of putting the cooked whole chicken into the simmering pot with the veggies and it gave the soup good flavor but the chicken was soft and chewy. Next time, I will not cook it for the whole 15 minutes and take the chicken off part way through and put the carcass back in. I added some dried parsley as well.

Fried Pork Chop

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
I dipped these in an egg and milk mix to help the breading stick, which it did. I had to cook them in the oven for about 8 minutes in addition to frying on the stove top in order to get them to cook up to 170 and there wasn't a whole lot of flavor. I served them with country gravy, which helped but I probably won't be making them again.

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
The flavor was good on these but the crisp/soft consistency was not so much. I started them out in the oven at 425 and after 15 minutes they were burning. So I turned the oven down to 375 and baked a total of about 45 minutes and they came out soft and not crunchy at all, which is what I was hoping for. Maybe if I would've cooked them for a whole hour they could've had more crunch?

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
These were really good! I used dried thyme (1 teaspoon) instead of fresh rosemary and apple cider vinegar because I didn't have plain white vinegar. Will make these again!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
This was great and got rave reviews from our guests, who even wanted the recipe. I made a few changes: used stuffing bread cubes from local bakery, used 1 tablespoon of fresh sage instead of dried, used Spicy Italian Chicken Sausage, omitted the turkey liver, baked in the oven for 35-45 minutes (350 degrees).

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
This turned out really good. I did make a few adjustments, hence the 4 stars. Without the adjustments, it likely would've been too bland. I added 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce to the ground beef after mixing in the flour. I also heavily seasoned it with salt and pepper. I added garlic to the onion when cooking. I also mixed a tad bit of milk and garlic powder into the mashed potatoes. I also broiled the top at the end to get a nice brown top. I will definitely make this again but use less carrots and more meat mixture.

Caramel Pear Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
This was exceptional! I used fairly ripe pears and instead of water for the cake mix, I used apple juice. I also made a crumb topping (flour, cold butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar) that I baked on top. I still inverted it like normal and the crumb topping gave it a little extra texture and something extra to taste. I will definitely make this again - thanks for the inspiration!

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
This was some of the best potato salad I have ever had! I used chopped pickles instead of relish and added chopped celery. Otherwise all was the same and it was fabulous!

Triple Berry Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2011
This turned out good. It's not my all time favorite fruit crisp/cobber recipe but it's still good. I used all blackberries because we just picked a bunch fresh. Because of that, I added a little bit more sugar. I also only used a cup of butter and the crisp turned out great. When I make it again, I will definitely add more fruit because the fruit to crisp ratio, is a definitely more crisp.

Strawberry Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
This turned out great for me although I did make some changes based on other reviews. I only did 1/2 cup of olive oil and I did a 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar. I added 2 tsp of white sugar and forgot to put the salt in and it turned out pretty tasty! I will likely make this again.

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
I've been looking for a great Caesar dressing and this was fabulous! I made some changes after I've made it a few times and that is adding olive oil, double or triple the lemon juice and I use anchovy paste instead of minced fillets. I also don't put Parmesan cheese in the dressing. The croutons are great too!

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
This turned out fabulous! I did up the fruit to 4 cups of each and only did 3/4 cup of sugar in the fruit mixture. Everything else stayed the same and it turned out wonderful! I should add that I only used about 3/4 of the total topping and it was the perfect amount.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Fabulous! I used homemade chicken broth in place of the water and chicken bouillon. I also added bacon and carrots to the potato, celery, onion, ham mixture. I didn't add the salt because I was nervous it would be too salty; however we ended up added our own at the end so I could've added it and it wouldn't have been too salty.

Creme Brulee II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
This turned out fabulous! Per other recommendations, I added an extra egg yolk and increased the sugar to 1/3 cup. They took 45 minutes to cook, I put them in the freezer for about 35 minutes, and finally relocated them to the fridge for another couple hours before we ate them. Will definitely make this again! Oh and be sure to put a thin layer of sugar on top (I didn't use a full tbsp) because if it's too thick of a layer of sugar, it's a little harder to torch without it burning by the time it's all caramelized.

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
This was so yummy! I doubled the rub/sauce per other recommendations and I ran out of chili powder so I did 1/4 c. chili powder and 1/4 c. of cumin. I put it in the crock pot for 8 hours and it was so moist! I will definitely be making this again!

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
This chicken was wonderful! I did do a few things different such as marinating the chicken in half of the honey mustard for an hour or so before cooking. Per other recommendations I sauteed the mushrooms before putting them on top of the chicken. I did put the corn syrup in the honey mustard and the flavor was great plus it helped thicken the sauce. Will definitely make again the exact same way!
