Vegetarian Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I made this last night and it turned out great. I made a few modifications. In the “meatballs” I used Ezekiel bread for the crumbs instead of Italian bread crumbs. I added Italian seasoning, and left out the sage. I made more sauce than called for because I wanted to serve it over noodles. I used tomato sauce instead of ketchup, apple cider vinegar instead of white. Added a little brown sugar, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. After 40 minutes of baking, I used the sauce in the pan to baste the meatballs and baked 10 more minutes.

Cherry Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
I made these for my sister’s birthday because they sounded yummy. I followed another’s advice and cut back on the sugar and cooked it a little longer. We agreed that they were way too sweet and they were gushy/runny.

Grandma's Chopped Liver

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
This was pretty tasteless. Next time, I'll go back to starting off with sautéing the liver with onions.

Beet, Bean and Apple Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
This was pretty good. I thought it needed something before I started. I added minced onion, fresh green beans par boiled instead of canned, and chopped walnuts. To the dressing I added a clove of garlic, pepper, and a little Stevia. Turned out great.

Mom-Mom's Jell Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
We used to make this years ago. We always used a graham cracker crust. Instead of whip cream we used Dream Whip. Always Delicious and fun to eat.
