Dash's Donair

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2005
I am from Halifax too. This is the exact recipe used by the restaurant that invented the Donair. The trick to the meat is to ask your butcher to put it through the meat grinder 2 more times to grind it extra fine. Medium beef also works the best. Also, absolutely no substitutes can be made for the sauce. You must used evaporated milk and you must chill the sauce before using. The cold sauce meets warm spicy beef is an important part of the experience. a warm pita is important too.

Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2002
Delicious!!!! I kept the bird intact and doubled the recipe for the sauce. I marinated it a plastic bag with half of the sauce. then I cooked chicken on a rotisserie for 45 mins and basted it every 10 mins until done (total cooking time:1.5 hours) with the extra sauce I added 1.5 table spoons of corn starch and heated just until thickened for dipping sauce. I served the chicken over rice with steamed veggies! YUMMY!

Creamy Dilled Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2005
I wonder if the person that gave this a poor rating because it took so long to cook neglected to notice that the chicken in the recipe is to already be cooked? I used my own biscuit recipe and this turned out fabulous!

Chocolate and Peanut Butter Dipped Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2002
this recipe was fun to make! We used Carmels too for the children with peanut allergies. P.S. Stardust: Chocolate has to be stired often as it retains its shape even when melted in the Microwave.

Souvlaki

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2002
This was by far the best recipe I have found for Souvlaki! We made Tizki ( I know I spelled that wrong) and put the meat in a fresh pita and smothered it with the sauce. I loved that it was so easy and that it was healthy fast food!

This was awesome! I didn't have white syrup so I used golden and this was just amazing! Next time I will add vanilla but it is really good without it.

This recipe was wonderful!!!!!!!!I am constantly looking for healthy low fat recipes. For this I used low fat mayo and low fat cottage cheese. I left out the eggs and added more celery. less than 2 grams of fat per serving!!!!!! This is definitely going into regular rotation around here!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

These were perfect as they are. I have to wonder if people are measuring liquid with solid measuring cups and confusing tables with tea spoons. I made them with blueberries this morning. So yummy!

Tzatziki Sauce

Fabulous! If you use the proper Greek styled yogurt you do not need to strain it. You do have to drain the cucumber though.
