About this Cook
I have been cooking since my teenage years. We had a peach tree and my dad loved my peach cobbler. In later years my mom and mother-in-law both great cooks taught me southern cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Years ago I took a Chinese cooking class in adult education. Some of my best liked recipes are egg rolls (large enough to make a meal) chicken wings made into drummets and meat balls and vegetables. My teenage son was very picky but would eat these veggies because they were not over cooked. Other favorites are lasagna, enchiladas and my chili.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The day after Thanksgiving my daughter and I make turkey enchiladas. She also is agreat cook. She excelles in desserts.
My cooking triumphs
30 years my best friend and I cooked for fund raisers and once catered a Christmas party for 30 people.
My cooking tragedies
I am 5' tall and my first crook pot sides were very tall. I don't remember what I was cooking but when I went to stir the pot I came up with the crook pot cookbook. I forgot I stored the book in the pot so I would't missplace it. Needles to say we still ate the meal less the cookcook (:

Homemade Sloppy Joes
I have never been a fan of Sloppy Joes made from canned Manwich. But this recipe was great, the whole family liked it. I didn’t have brown sugar so used a little maple syrup. Sometimes you have to improvise and that’s ok.

Easy, Cheesy Tortellini Bake
Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010 I loved this recipe. I did make some variations.. I used Penne pasta instead of the tortellini. I didn't use as much pasta (about 8 ounces) because I sauted vegetables and made it a little healthier. I used 1 green bell pepper, 1 yellow bell pepper, 8 oz of fresh mushrooms, 1 small red onion, 3 cloves of finely minced garlic, 8 oz of fresh spinach and 1 small can of sliced black olives along with the italian seasoning and 1 bay leaf. Put it all together in a cassarole dish...with the marinara sauce and alfredo sauce.... mixed 8 oz of parmasean cheese, 2 cups of moterey jack into the pasta... and topped it with 2 cups mozerella. Did'nt need a salad......and warmed up a loaf of focaccia. It was a feast!!!!
