Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
I used to buy the roll out pillsbury crusts before I found this recipe. I haven't bought pie crust since. This pie crust is perfect every time. I use butter flavored Crisco and I add 1 T. of powdered sugar if I'm using the crust for a dessert. It sound like a lot of shortening, and it will feel sticky before you chill it. If you forget to make it in advance, putting it in the freezer for 15 min. works fine. Thank you for this recipe. I've been baking for 40 years and will never use another recipe.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
This was very good and inexpensive. I bought cheap steak and cut it up myself. I added a bell pepper and a T. of minced garlic. I floured my meat, so I used 1/4 c. olive oil and browned my meat, onion and pepper together. I also used 2.5 c. of water w/ a t. of beef boullion (I didn't use a t. of salt I just sprinkled some while I was browning.) My son-in-law actually called my daughter at work to see if she had eaten supper because he didn't want to save her any. Next time I will make some yeast rolls to go with. Mmmm..

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

I think these turned out great. I made them just like the recipe stated. I was concerned about only one rising, but they were actually bigger than I thought they would be and so easy. Will make them often, Thanks for this wonderful recipe.

Costas French Market Doughnuts (Beignets)

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
They call them Doughnuts and Beignets, I call them sopapillas ( I hope that is spelled correctly). I added vanilla and I think next time I will add a little more sugar. I also put cinnamon in my powdered sugar. I think the servings must be a mistake. I halved the recipe and still ended up with 2 dozen.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
Amazing. I can't say enough about this recipe. Five adults in the house went nuts over this. Even after dinner, every time I came through the kitchen one of them was standing at the stove picking at it. I only made one chicken so I halved the seasoning. I put all the seasoning in a small bowl. The only thing I did different was to use Old Bay instead of the cayenne. I even forgot to do advance refrigeration part. My son and DIL even mentioned it again this morning before work. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.

Mocha Coffee

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
I thought it was excellent for something so easy. I used half and half, but didn't change the recipe other than that. Next time I think I'll use my french vanilla creamer just to see. Thanks for the recipe.

Berdean's Cube Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
Wonderful. I used salt, pepper and garlic powder. I doubled the recipe. I used 1 tsp. beef bouillon granules and 1 package on onion soup mix in 2 cups of water. I put them in a 9x13 casserole dish and poured the mixture over and baked covered at 325 for 2 hours. They were the most tender I've ever had.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
No leftovers! My family loved it. I added minced celery and bell pepper and garlic powder. Instead of the jelly roll. I did as the recipe states, but I folded it into thirds by pulling one side slightly over center, then pulled the other side slightly over that and sealed it. Make sure to seal the ends well or you will lose a lot of cheese. Thanks for recipe.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
Mmm..Mmm good. Even the white meat was tender and juicy. I did have to cook it 40 minutes longer. Maybe a difference in elevation. I added onions and garlic and more celery. I used my giblets for gravy and served it with mashed potatoes.

We loved it. I used old bay for the seasoning and added three T. butter. Finally a way to get my family to eat broccoli that isn't swamped with cheese!

Stuffed Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
This was a neat idea. I used 3 squash. I put Savory herb stuffing in 1 1/2 c. beef broth instead of chicken as my main dish was beef. I used 1T. butter and 1T. brown sugar. I put them in a 9x13 casserole and covered the whole thing with foil. Thank you Weavre for a simple yet unusual recipe.

This was a rather unique recipe. My grandson likes them a lot. I gave only 4 stars because I didn't like the cloves, cinnamon might be better.

Zucchini Bites

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
My family and I just didn't like them. They weren't terrible, just not to our liking. They might be good for an early brunch because they tasted really eggy to me. Sorry this is the first low review I've written, I just don't want someone to depend on them for something to go with dinner the way I did.
