Light and Fresh Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2003
This is a great recipe. The first time I made it, I halved it, to see how we liked it. It was gone in a flash. When the salad was gone, I was dipping anything I could find in this. I used balsamic vinegar which tasted great, but looked like watery chocolate milk. Thank you, Shelly!

This is excellent! I found the sumac at a middle eastern market. This adds a great flavor. Thanks, Winna!

Enchiladas Suizas

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2003
These were great! Followed the recipe except cooked the shredded chicken in lime juice and chili powder before adding. This is a time consuming recipe, next time I make it, I'll make ahead and add the cream just before cooking. These taste like something you would order a a REAL mexican restaurant. Thanks for the great recipe!

Overnight Pork Roast With Cabbage

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
This is a great recipe! I did not marinade my roast as long, but still came out very delicious. I couldn't crush the caraway seeds, so I just used whole. I did put the mashed potatos on top and they were excellent. Don't let the amount of prep scare you away. After everything is combined for the final cooking step, clean up the other pots and pans while it's cooking and serve from the dutch oven when it's done. Thank you, Holly!

Salsa Cheese Boule Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2003
This was awesome! I cooked half of the dip in a smaller loaf for a snack for my husband and me. We ate the entire thing. If I had made it all, we probably would have kept eating!

Chicken Jalfrezi

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2004
This was awesome. I made the recipe exactly as written except used chicken breasts instead of thighs. This is very flavorful and my kids really liked it, not too spicy. I was a little scared adding such large amounts of the spices, but it was great. Thanks for the keeper!

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2004
I wish I could rate this higher, because it is awesome. I used canola instead of peanut oil, because it was what I had. The longer it marinates, the better it tastes. Thank you for a great recipe, Christine!

Fresh Asparagus Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2004
Absolutely awesome! Used low sodium chicken broth instead of vegetable broth and 1% milk instead of soy. This recipe motivated me to freeze some asparagus while it's in season so we can enjoy this year 'round. Thanks Nanook!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2002
Wow! I was a bit skeptical, but this is delicious. Since this is not very healthy, knock yourself out and splurge. For a killer combo use Jay's Signature pizza crust and Bill's Bleu cheese dressing, both at allrecipes. I just thinly coated the top of the crust with the bleu cheese. This is also great cut into squares and served as a snack or appetizer.

Marinated Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I made this for an appetizer for the 4th of July. It was very, very good. I substituted low fat cream cheese and it kind of melted into a blob, but a very delicious one. The cheddar held it's shape well and was very good plain or on a cracker. If it's warm and you want a good presentation, serve on ice. But it is so good, no one will really care what it looks like. Thanks!

Mediterranean Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2004
We really enjoyed this recipe. I cooked the bacon and chicken together with some garlic and drained the grease before continuing. I added two cans of tomato to make it stretch a little further. Then I got scared that I had ruined the recipe, but after 20 mins at a simmer it had cooked down and wasn't so juicy. This was so very, very good!

Potato Leek Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2005
We thought this was awesome. I made it last night and my husband and older daughter loved it. The younger kids didn't rave as much. I used vegetable stock (didn't have chicken) and 1/4 cup butter- all I had on hand. After the potatoes were done, I used a potato masher to smoosh them and kept some chunks. I had some today with bacon and romano cheese on top. Excellent recipe, Eleanor!

Very good and pretty easy. I added some carrots and green pepper as I didn't have much ham. Topped with some shredded swiss cheese and it was awesome! Thanks for a great recipe.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
These turned out great! I added the zucchini to the wet mixture and these turned out very moist. Did not make the frosting, I didn't think they needed it. I agree with Angela Sims. That is my biggest pet peeve, when people change the recipe, then give it a poor rating. How is that helpful?

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
Great recipe! This works great with 2 bags microwave popcorn. Hints for easier clean up: foil wrap the two pans and spray with Pam. Pour the popcorn directly into the pans, pour half the sauce over each and mix right in the baking pan. Wash the sauce pan IMMEDIATELY before the caramel hardens. Oh so good!

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2005
The bad news, then the good news. I did not care for this at all. Perhaps I have been stunted by canned soup. The good news is that this is a very well written recipe that the rest of my family enjoyed. It is very easy to make and everyone else loved it. I will definately make again!
