My favorite things to cook
Vegetarian dishes are my forte, but good cuts of lean meats are fun also. I don't bake very often, I have two daughters who are truly gifted in that department. Though I do love to bake good bread from time to time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Good pickles, sauerkraut, good sauces, canned chili sauces, seasonal fruits, home grown tomatoes (especially as tomato sandwiches).

Mastering old German almond cinnamon stars.
My cooking tragedies
Tried to make Huckleberry jam once, ruined 4 quarts of hand picked wild berries, turned the whole mess into inedible little purple ball bearings. The chemistry of these berries is very special. Follow recipes!!!
