Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
I have been making the same banana bread recipe for years, from pillsbury, but my children always picked at it and left most of it to be eaten by me. I made this bread 2 days ago and it's gone!! My kids and husband flipped out, it was so good, and all I got back was a clean plate with crumbs! I liked the suggestion of cinnamon chips, but I didn't have any, so I used 1/2 bag of white chips insead. It was great. Will try cinnamon chips next time. This is definitally a keeper!!

Cream of Asparagus Soup I

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
Awesome soup! I followed some of the other suggestions, and added 2 diced up chicken breasts to it. My 3 and 5 year olds cleaned their bowls! I will be making this again. I paired it with the "Tender Potato Rolls" recipe on here and they went perfect together.

Tender Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
Loved these rolls!! The smell alone, when they are baking will drive you crazy!! Very moist and delicious. I paired them with the "Cream of Asparagus Soup I" from here, and it was a smash hit for dinner. My 3 and 5 year olds loved it! I brushed the tops with butter as soon as I took them out of the oven, which softened the tops and gave a yummy taste. They are also great with butter and strawberry jam!! I froze the leftovers and will try bread pudding next week. Can't wait!

Honey Of An Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
Loved this bread!! The family loved it as well. I tried it the way it was written, and I also made a loaf with 2/3 whole wheat, and 1/3 white flour. Also added a couple tsp cinnamon. Wonderful! I would say no house should be without a loaf of this. Thank you so much for this recipe!!!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
I combined this one with another banana smoothie recipe I saw. I used 2 bananas (one for each child) 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 T chocolate syrup and 1 T honey. My 3 and 5 year old liked it okay, but didn't finish it. They said it was good, but the 1/2 empty glass told me otherwise. Thanks anyway!

Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
Awesome and extremely easy!! My kids were amazed at how fast they were ready. I took the advice of another reviewer and added 1 1/2 tsp vanilla to it. My husband ate more of them than the children did!!

Chicken Avocado Pizza

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
I think these are very easy and absolutely delicious, however, my 3 and 5 year old barely touched them, and my husband didn't care for the avacado sauce. I used grands biscuits rolled flat for my crust. Made the perfect size personal crust.

New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
I have never made clam chowder before. My husband is the one who makes the chowder in our family. He said this one blows his out of the water! I was concerned about my 3 and 5 year old eating it, they've never had it before. To my surprise, my 3 year old cleaned his bowl and asked for more. I did take some suggestions from other reviews. I replaced 1/2 the water with clam juice, used another can of clams. The kids say this is definitally a keeper. Thanks so much!!

Awesome cookies!!! Best way to use up limes. Super easy to make. I did discover, however, that if you are using a baking stone.... it takes twice as long to cook! Yummy!!!!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Good seasoning! A little too spicy for my 3 and 5 year old, but I use it in a lot of different dishes. Hamburgers are great with a little of this added. Sure saves on the packets, and I love the idea that there's no MSG in it!! Thanks!

Roasted Green Chile Stew

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
This stew is awesome! I doubled the broth, and still had to add a little water. I doubled the pork because my husband is a big meat eater. I also didn't have any roma tomatoes on hand, so I used a can of mild rotel. Excellent consistancy and flavor. I actually forgot to add salt, but it really doesn't need it!! I thought I had a killer chile recipe, but this one gives me a nice 2nd option!! I would definitally recommend this! For the chiles I used roasted anahiems that I purchased from a roadside vendor and had in my freezer. Also, didn't have any "mexican" oregano, so I just used regular oregano, and increased my cumin to 1 1/2 tsp - because I like cumin!! Thanks for the recipe, I'll make it again soon, I'm sure!!!!

Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
Awesome breakfast! These little pies are so adaptable!! You can do anything you wish with this recipe. Any breakfast ingredients.... basically just like putting together an omelete, you can adjust it to your taste. Great idea. thanks for the recipe, I will be making these a lot. They are awesome to make ahead when you are planning a trip where you have to get up early and leave, just make the day before and pop them in the microwave before you walk out the door. Great to carry along in the car for the kids when time is short, but you still want them to eat a nutritious breakfast. Beats poptarts!!!

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

This was a very good, easy recipe. I have never been a big fan of yellow cake mix, so next time....and there will be a "next time", I think I will try a white cake mix. Thanks so much!

Marinated Tuna Steak

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
I gave this 5 stars because it's the first fish recipe that my family actually LOVED! My husband usually would push a fish plate away after one bite and say "that's all he can eat". I was very very very pleased when he ate the whole thing, and commented throughout about how great it was. My 3 year old son cleaned up the tuna before eating anything else on his plate. This is a true gem for me, and I will make it again and again!! Thank you so much for this YUMMY dish!!

Millet Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
Awesome muffins!! I love the crunch of the millet. These are definitally a keeper! They are hard to stop eating!! Thanks for this recipe. I tried to make it healthier so I exchanged the oil for fruit. Didn't have any applesauce, so I mashed a ripe pear. It was yummy! Also, used 1 cup oat flour and 1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour.

Salsa de Tomatillos Como Las Asadas y Big Star

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
I really liked this recipe. I am an avid tomato salsa recipe maker, but my husband has been asking me why I never use tomatillos. My response was that I've never used tomatillos ever in my life. Well, this was the lucky recipe I chose, and I'm glad I did. It was a great choice. Excellent flavor, and very easy to do. The serrano peppers were small, and after roasting, I couldn't get the skin off without tearing them apart, so I just threw them in the blender with skins on.... didn't notice one bit!! Will definitally make this again!!

Strawberry Limeade

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
Was not real impressed with this recipe. My 5 year old really wanted strawberry limeade. I found this and made it. She didn't hardly drink any of it. Not sure why, but when I tasted it, I guess I was expecting a little more out of it.
